I installed a new water level float sensor in the water box and it didn't improve the situation. I tested it and the water box will just run empty and not shut down the pressure pump
I suppose I have a bad relay or a broken wire somewhere, although I couldn't spot a broken wire or bad connection anywhere. Can a portion of a relay go bad? If the whole thing was bad I imagine the pressure pump wouldn't even be working. I'm wondering if the water level sensor triggers a shut down with a closed or open circuit, not sure whether or not the float should be up or down to check for continuity. The Hydramaster CDS 4.8 manual doesn't tell me much. I've looked at the electrical schematic Nor does anything I found online. For now if my water supply cuts off when working I'll just run like a madman back to the truck to cut the high pressure pump to prevent it from burning up..!
Here are the electrical schematics from the CDS 4.8 owners manual. Doesn't tell me much, except that according to the schematic there is one wire of the 2 wires coming off the water box float sensor that actually runs back to the relay, unless they decided to show 2 wires as a single line in the schematic. Not sure what to do but order a relay. Are these special relays? can one find these at typical auto parts stores? I didn't see a part number or anything on the relay when I looked at the control panel today. It does say 12 volt 30 amp on it, with a diagram of its connections...
