The pipe size in the photo is 2.5" nominal, which is 4.91 sq. inches of cross-sectional area.

2" pipe is only 3.14 sq. inches of cross-sectional area.

The 2.5" pipe has 56% more area than 2".

Lee . . . ; do you use 2.5" vac hose from the TM to a 2.5" diameter wand ?

That vac hose is at least 50 times the length of our short blower plumbing .

Also, I forgot to point out that we tested ONE vs TWO wands at Nick's BarBQ a few months ago.

Two 12" wands with a #4 blower showed 2" hg drop with the second wand added.

That is about the same drop we recorded at the wand with an additional 100 ft of 2" hose extension.

Since we start with 17" hg. of lift, we feel two wands are easily attained.

In regard to the metal plumbing on the blower . . .

we tried aluminum pipe fittings, before we switched to the zinc-coated steel we use now . . .

The ones we use now ARE more durable.

Gardner Denver sutorbilt on the mr series blowers using oversized baths and bearing chambers for better cooling and oil movement in the chamber is what they explained to me.

There is a Chinese manufacture of blowers called eurus blowers doing the Same thing but they instead keep the hg relative to the other manufacturers and yet give a three year warranty on all their blowers.

Also makes for a quieter running blower.

The mr series blowers are pretty stout and you will notice they are a bit heavier and a bit larger than its comparable gear/love competition/counter part.
