Ok someone let me know if I understand this correctly plz.

If I where to buy a new or used SS TM with say 200 hrs or less from an individual or dealer. The unit has a problem the first few days of owning it.

I have to call manufacturer with my serial # and find out where it was bought??

Take it there for any repairs or service??

I understand some think he should have bought local or closer. He didn't, its still a brand spanking new TM with probs!

Customer service troubleshooting techs are still in training class.

Well David maybe you will atleast be bought a beer and given a good Reach Around on the Demo Playground at Mikeyfest.

Be careful not to get it burned.

He's admittedly not mechanical , he bought a relatively new TM design..
he didn't do very good homework before purchasing either
He by-passed all his local distys that sell and install the same TM to have it done TWO THOUSAND MILES away ..where it's impossible for Olson to be of any after sale exam/tuning help.

all that adds up to a dumb move for ALL involved IMNSHO

next, he's unwilling to run it on high with wand on the floor to get the max heat potential.
Maybe he doesn't understand the concept of marketing either...do you think their claim of heat isn't based on "best case" scenarios?

does Dave have a legit complaint?
I don't know, if he runs on high, with wand on floor, dose he get good heat then??
(Olson says he got 220) and I'd "guess" that was ideal conditions ..e.g..run on high w/wand on floor (putting load on blower)

I don't have a dog in this fight...I'm neither pro nor anti SS
I'm not anti Dave either, I met him years ago and consider him a good honest man

I agree with what Larry said, a local deal might have avoided this whole situation (???) and that's not a knock on John and his service, just on his proximity to the unit.

There are no winners in this deal, at least until the unit is thorough checked out as to what's up with the heat.

Sounds like the air does need to be bled out but I don't think David should do it if he's uncomfortable doing so. Get the air out and lets see the results then. I'd bet were are talking a different story then. :winky:

Soon this will all be resolved, and the machine will run at 230 degrees as it was designed to and advertised at. But I am enjoying all the bored drama, as I'm sure everyone but John and Dave are.

Larry why do you think Olson accepted this purchase being 2000 miles way and knowing that he would not be able to service it?? Do you think Olson should of told Dave to deal with his local disty or did he? Most national companies have protected territories for their distributers and would not have allowed this sale in the first place. ie cutting the other guys grass. Regardless of any body trying to point the finger at Dave SS is the source responsible for taking care of this problem.
