I think what Mike means is just between the first and second posts of the thread, not all the way down.

I veisit a couple of other forums that have it like that and it's ok to live with.

how about a separate page just like that folding one on the upper right that would say " click here" then the page would fold down when I place my mouse to it. Place it on the left side of the screen or the bottom left or right.

Between the posts as this would spread them out and give each advertiser more opportunity to be seen around high view posts. It would also keep the top uncluttered and more exclusive ($$).

Why not put two Banners at the Bottom, as each thread grows it just pushes the banners down, so that every good thread will be sure to get some banner looks?

All this "top of the page" stuff is annoying. I do like the premium spot of a "Corner Peel" but change it up a bit, limit the "contract" to something like 90 days, that used to piss me off to ALWAYS see the back cover of CleanFax or ICS have the SAME advertiser with the SAME ad month after month.

Same here. Keep the pic. Each pic tells a story of whats going on on the board, most of the time. I tune the banners out just like I tune out the ex.

Put them wherever you want but reduce all the crap on the side bar from posters. How many times do we need to read what gear a guy has, and what equip, years in biz, trade associations etc.
That way there would be a lot more posts on the screen and make for easier reading. :?
