Xactimate question: water extraction

Billing for water extraction using Xactimate: we removed 3 inches of water from a 10' x 15' area, hard surface.

Is there a way to bill for the cubic area as opposed to just the SF?

You can try but they may fight it.

The reason being if it were truly 3 inches of standing water, a $100.00 submersible pump will pump thousands of gallons an hour. TM'S only make sense when a submersible or trash pump can no longer pump the water.

You could also charge hourly for the labor and the machine.

That's what I'm thinking, I'll charge for the labor instead using the WTR EXTH code I'd usually use.

Square feet x Height of water (in inches) / 12 inches x 7.48 = gallons of water in structure.

150 x 3 inches / 12 = 37.5 x 7.48 = 280.5 gallons.

I think 0.25 cents per gallon was the going rate to pump out water.
