This guy's THEORY was....The C-Solve was a solvent..so it would DRY faster...

If you do the MATH..that is about $30.00 per Hydra-Force jug.....

He runs a Hydramaster 421..with the New RX 20 cone-jet head...at "200" psi... :?

No Vacuum or Wand on Van... :!: :!: :!:  "corners & edges done by hand"

"Mike makes a GOOD point about the DEMA-VALVE ." Lets HOPE it is clogged.... :!:

can you IMAGINE how FAST these jobs must "RE-SOIL"...

This is confusing.
Last year I was certified by Lee's Carpet a division of Mohawk through their Maintenance Specialist/Trainer and he highly recommended even bonnet cleaning (which would include other rotaries) and has it specifically listed as part of Lee's maintenence program. We had a long discussion on this very subject. I do know he mentioned that citrus products couldn't be used though.

I'm going to give him a call and will respond back with what he has to say. I think sometimes if you talked to 10 different people from most mill, you'd get 10 different opinions regarding warranties.

I know we had to contact a rep a few months back from a large mill regarding an issue we had with color change spotting a new carpet and this joker was clueless.

So is this for residential and commercial carpet ? Looks like no more Rotovac or RX20 .Maybe time for a Whittaker or brush and clean machine .

I've been needing to send my GLS back to Whittaker for service for over a year now, but haven't because my Clark built electro-Gerkink machine is doing just fine for me, but now I think I may have to send it in.

I just got off the phone with them. It seems that the cylindrical type equipment is what they're going with now on Mohawk carpets. They are big believers in encapsulation though and highly recommend it.

So I guess the good news is encapsulation is getting more recognition, the bad news is we may have to be more selective where we use the Cimex. The challenge is, how often do we actually know which mill made the carpet we're cleaning? I'd still bet though if the Cimex is used correctly it wouldn't ever be an issue. But, better safe than sorry if we're concerned about having a warranty issue.

Do you think it will have enough of an impact that we will see the cylindrical machines rise to prominence?

I've hesitated from buying one because they look so simple that they don't appear very professional.

Well if that is what they want, they better know that results will be slower to achieve, production will go down so prices will have to go up.

Like an overweight illegal in jeans could ever look professional?
Are you looking at me right now?
Did you see that?
And take this too!

What about the Whitaker Lomac? Is the Sprint comparable?

What about one of Clark's machines, does anyone own one?
It looks much more profesional.

Tony's not evil, he's British! (At least he spent enough of his life there.....)

Those Brits are always thinking 11 steps ahead of everyone else over here in the colonies.

Chavez,
That big ass crb from Clark is mean, and loud. Gears are easy to change and cheap, get a few. Too big for furnished residential work. Our has a high pressure spray system, we run a hydroforce inline and use it to spray and scrub large areas.

Yea Jess that's the part I like "mean and loud", we would use it strictly for commercial carpet.

How does it compare to a Cimex for effectiveness and production?

You think Clark's beast looks more professioanl than a Whittaker machine?

Personally, I like the RotoWash machines, have one for the house 10" brush I think? has a tiny gravity tank, and small mechanical waste tank, very cool for touch ups, and grabs hair and pile lifts like no tomorrow, a must for pet houses, vacuum cleaner can't touch it.

I don't like the looks, but the others look really janitorial, like anyone could operate it.

Clark's looks like a beast the would required a professional to operate. :?:

You're thinking Milliken Bob. Mohawk likes HWE.

I think Mohawk is being damn narrow minded, but I do understand some of their antipathy toward citrus solvents. Those products are the spotter of choice in the Jan San industry, and you've got lazy janitors out there taking gallon jugs of the stuff, pouring it on grease spots, and kicking it in with their shoes.

Delamination and resoil issues are everywhere as a result. I'm sure many of you have seen it too.

Most of the cleaning restrictions on commercial carpet are coming from bad actions from that part of janitorial contractors and in house staff, although I have seen my share of fat and lazy "professional" carpet cleaners do the "spill and kick" routine myself!

If you are referring to my cleaning techniques from when I was up for your class, I have lost some weight.
P.S. Those lunches & donuts you guys serve up don't help !
That of course will be illegal under OBAMA's NEW HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. I hear donuts will be placed on the controlled substance list.

I have a bunch of 100% nylon Bigelow Modular carpet tiles that I clean, they are a division of Mohawk

For the install you just about have to put the glue down with a roller. I saw an inproper install where all the edges curled. They had to pull all the tiles and run them through a machine to restore the tiles before reinstall.

For cleaning I just run a crb machine over them and clean with just hot water, so far so go. They look fine, coffee rinsed out fine

not bashing the method, I own a cimex, I would think they don't want the cimex on them because the method doesn't remove any soil, I think they really don't care whether or not the cimex damages the fiber

but they want them pile lifted on a regular basis as part of a maintenance
