Ford asks dealers to loan new F-150s to Texans to power homes amid historic cold

After a Texas resident posted a photo of his F-150 helping him charge appliances and keeping his home warm, Ford asked dealers in the state to loan out the trucks to others struggling to stay warm.

According to a media release from Ford, the 2021 model's Pro Power Onboard feature has enough power ot run 28 refrigerators, charge a bed full of electric dirt bikes, or run an entire job site worth of tools.



you still have to run the van for power and hot water .
But that's the future for the DD guys that don't want an internal combustion engine in the van.

It's what Hydromaster is doing with their lectro CDS, right?
Using van engine for heat and supplying generated power to the lectro motor
Are any of those on the market yet?

Available on the 2021 as a 995$ option. The price of a generator. Having this as a factory option would make the HydraMaster Electric a plug and go machine. I think everyone who makes Truck Mounts will have to bring some kind of electric machine to the Industry.
28 refrigerators - Imagine how many Dehumidifiers and blowers you could connect. Power out disaster like we are dealing with here and this truck would be lots of help. I could see companies buying these just to have them parked on big disaster jobs. They could just use the truck.
After what we just went through I will be picking one up before next winter.
