Well, it arrived.

So far I'm impressed. I love the beater bar, the light weight, plenty of suck, and the long power cord. I also love the smell-good tab that you drop in the bag.

Dislikes: Only 10" of cleaning area per pass and no edging tool.

What next? If Mikey suggests a George Forman grill?
You don't see me using a 10" crb do you? However, I am considering buying an airport shuttle van and ripping out the seats. I hear it's worth it having the rear A/C vents and extra windows. :)

It looks like I already lost possession of my new Oreck. My wife tried it and totally loves it compared to our Kirby. Looks like the Kirby is going back on the van.

Jimmy is just sour that only Marty was stupid enough to buy a Castex.

Oreck is king.

I also got a brand new vacuum today. As you can see I went a different way from the tiny motor and narrow cleaning path.

My wife is very excited to have this vacuum. So it's good in my book.

You don't need wings on a horse.
You do need to edge when you vacuum.

Seeing you recommend that POS vacuum is really disappointing.

It's feather light, if the lack of edging is bothering you @hogjowl you can attach the small cannister vac Mikey also loves (for furnature) with some tape or zip ties and boom...problem solved. It will need two cords now, so it's sorta like a portable but with low amps you can plug them both into the same outlet.

I've already got a super vac that edges without needing tape or bungee cords

Orecks are not in the vacuum cleaner category.
They stand alone and proud in the "Lint Movers" category.

At least unlike the previous POS Shark, they don't rip out the staple fibers.

That's an improvement :headbang:

A vacuum without an edger is like a three legged horse. I've owned two orecks for janitorial jobs and several sanitairs of the same style. They move a ton of air, dust and fine particles. For that they are epic. But I would have rocks and large debris all over. And dirty edges. I'll take a Windsor or pro team over an oreck every day.

I vacuum public buildings. From health clinics to power company offices to tire shop mats to libraries... Any pebble you find in a parking lot gets tracked in and they just get shot around in an oreck.
Not having an edging tool is like a barber without a neck buzzer. I don't care how sharp their scissors are if your neck looks like a homeless guys.
