Many textile enthusiasts enjoyed Jon Thompson's presentation on Turkoman rugs. He was on a 12 city tour and we got to enjoy this one in LA today at Khosrow's rug gallery. He will be in Seattle next.

NO Beer during the program I attended. Some rug washers managed to find their way to a coctail hour off site. I personally went to see Bobcat's facility in LA with my car group.

You missed the Seattle talk by Jon. I called and found out It was last night! The Seattle Textile and Rug Society sponsored it. I was told today that for $50 you can join and they will keep you posted on upcoming events. They serve snacks too!

The young guys were learning respectfully from the old guys. No substitute for experience. (The guy standing in the black shirt is young at 58? - nice! )

The only thing that was older than some of the people were the rugs. This event was held at:

There was indeed a great deal of wealth just in rugs that needed to be secured. We were asked not to take pictures of some rugs shown due to their value to the collector and his personal security and right of privacy.
