We have a townhome to rehab on Thurs. Cheap tan cut pile with multiple colored stains of all colors in the rainbow. How much peroxide can I boost O2 with to really hammer this carpet to lighten the colored stains before I do damage to the carpet?

There are some bleach stains where I could lighten the carpet around them to make them less noticable. How much is too much?

I have used 40 volume straight before with no problems.
As long as you are rinsing it back off it wont hurt anything.
I would never do that as an after spray, but if you give it
a 10 to 15 minute dwell time and spray it separate from
your pre spray its going to get diluted anyway when it hits
the all ready pre sprayed carpet. If you mix it with prespray
it gets reduced even more. Even if you used 40 volume on
a nylon carpet after it was cleaned it probably wouldn't hurt a thing.

Bryan;

I would not go higher than 6% (20 vol.).

Above that level, some colors will fade quickly.

If you need stronger, use a UV light or UV laser.

I'll second Kevin's advice.

Any rug f'd up as you described taint gonna be hurt by 40 in your PS.

If you use 2 ounces of 02 per gallon add another cup of 40

I use 20% or 15% stabilized from Crown on a regular basis in my rentals with little problems. Even if you lighten a spot it was ruined to begin with. I mist it on straight. I haven't had much success on colored stains with it. I did a bedroom yesterday with blue, purple ,orange and green and what cleaning didn't remove Oil flo solvent did. Test clean a few spots first. Sometimes they are watercolor paint or marker and you can just clean em out and look like a hero for nothing.

That will dilute it down to what Larry said 6-10%

I was planning on 6 oz per gal, 1 oz hot sauce and 6-8 oz of 40 vol per ready mix gal and spray heavy. Figuring 1 gal per 125 sq ft. We don't do too many of these.

I will take some pics of before and after. We are getting $800 for it, so not afraid to use some chemical.
