What are some of the deciding factors with cleaning contents onsite or cleaning them at your facility. I know costs is the big one but what are some of the others.

Most losses we have cleaned off site but the last job we did onsite and was a pita. Homeowner or construction crew removed our containment wall and we had to redust and wipe down a bunch of contents a few times.

What does the insurance company like to see?

Generally we pack it out if the homeowner can't live in the home or if reconstruction could cause harm to it if left there to be cleaned.

If you had no other option you can cover contents with plastic or cloth sheets to minimize recleaning. You could also errect a critical barrier and use neg air machine to draw dust away from the contents.
