Do you towle off Upholstery after HWE?

Yes I do. I use a 13'' light blue microfiber bonnet by hand after cleaning upholstery to help absorb some moisture and to help with drying.

Yes. There is only so much moisture that you can remove with vacuuming. Absorbent towels extract moisture, as well as the soil that's in it.

I think it was Greenie who made the comment that went something like this:

"There isn't any tool that only extracts clean water. If you extract more water, you remove more dirt"

Of course if you remove more moisture, you are also lessening chances for bleeding and browning.

Arms and headrests usually look better when wiped with a towel and usually get dirt transfer. Not so much on the rest.

I usually brush the lines out with a nylon brush. I don't clean a lot of fancy materials but am seeing more and more delicate fabric.

I did a sofa the other day which had a tidy sawtooth left by the last guy. I think he used too much heat, because it would not brush out.

So I vacuumed, sprayed, scrubbed with a soft brush and washed the sofa with warm water, then toweled it off (section by section). It worked; the sofa looks like spun gold, with no tool patterns. Very gratifying, especially when the owner walked up behind me and observed “The other guy didn’t do ANY of this stuff! Looks great!”

Never have done that. I do however point two air movers at couches.

Guess I'm a hack. Groom the pieces that can use it and sometimes that will be done with a microfiber towel then aim a small air mover at it and the pillows. Usually dry in a few minutes.

I buy all my white towels from Costco. The only only thing ill buy. Microfiber towels need to be dense and very little plush (high thread count)I usually buy them on car king site.

Another good towel that i will buy is pique towel. Great drying towels. You can get them as hand towels or smaller. The high quality white pique towel are the one you want to get. You can get em at bed bath beyomd or walmart if they got em. You want the high thread count and low plush kind. Terry cloth from Costco is better alternative as there is more towel for the price

especially the ones we used on the TM
(never took dirty or washed but stained towels into res homes)
always new or like new

'cept not being millionaire BD, when they become too crappy/stained, they get tossed into a bin in the garage and used as shop rags before they get pitched

Sam's Club are not only a better/thicker towel , but less expensive to boot

I've used those in the past.
they're a good inexpensive general purpose towel
but they're the ones that tent to shed lint on upl (and terribly when new/unlaundered).

MF towels are more expensive, but I think they're better all the way the block for everything

I just use my old undies. Once the elastic waistband stretches out they become a spotting towel. I can't wait to use them to dry upholstery. I'm sure Mrs. Smith will tip me when she sees me drying her couch with my undies.
