Hi guys,
I am trying to figure out which portable to start off with and I think I'm in between these two :)
Versa Clean 500 or the Monsson 500

Thank you for your advice

If the vacuum on the Versaclean IS as powerful as two 3-stage vacs, I would go for this machine due to the higher PSI.
I have the Monsoon, I like it only because of its weight. I prefer my Old Mytee M-5 for more power.

Watch out for the monsson. The vacs are in series and not parallel so you get big lift but crappy air flow ( I wonder why they don't measure air flow, Because it doesn't have much). I remember the slight of hand rotovac tried to pull when they introduced the monsoon by not turning on 1 vac motor of the mytee. Shyster marketing.

* Dry weight: 50 kg
* Amps: Circuit 1: 10A
* Amps: Circuit 2: 10A
* Construction: Rotomolded polyethene housing and handle; 25cm semi-pneumatic wheels.
* Closed water lift: 348 cm
* Power cord: Two 30.5 cm cords and two 7.6 m ext. cords
* Drain valve: Gate type
* Float shut-off: Ball type
* Safety: ETL listed to UL and CSA standards

How much of your work will be hard surface cleaning?

If not much at all, you're getting more pressure than you will usually need, more weight than you will want to routinely handle, without any heat at all.

The machine itself is nicely built, and our version has a good record of reliability.

Great for hard surfaces, not so much for carpet. It's always a trade off. Determine how much carpet you are doing and how much hard surface. I have many portables that I have modified for carpet cleaning as that's the bulk of what I do. I have an old Ninja machine where I sit a 1200 psi pump on top with the hoses dropping into the solution tank. You can have someone make you up a high pressure pump or you can buy a water otter to use with a high performance machine. Will mean 3 power cords

You're on 240v like me, I'd look and see if you can get a vortex lite 2 lx motors with heat.
Great vacuum (for a porty)
good heat (provided you fill with hot tapwater) runs off 2 cords on 2 circuits, loud enough to send the housewife elsewhere

Do you own an oscillating pad machine with microfiber bonnets yet?

Maybe, get the cheapest portable extractor you can get your hands on and step up to a nice OPM.

I don’t know which brands are available in your country, but I would look to where you might be able to try one out in the closest possible store location. Make sure you can lift it up steps, and in and out of your vehicle.

Depending on what power is available in the homes, businesses, and other commercial and institutional facilities you might clean, you should look for 500 psi, heat, and the most vacuum you can get within the power available.

For most hard surfaces, 500 psi with a hard surface tool or wand with a brush glide will be enough.
