False.

People die, move away, forget who you are. If you subscribe to that train of thought you're doomed to an ever eroding client base.

Let's see it works for Mercedes, Cadillac, BMW...oh wait. They continue to market despite being known, premium name plates.

Huh??? 🤔

Absolutely true. We do ZERO advertising, and are booked out between 2-4 weeks all year.
All the new clients we get are from WOM...

AND, if and when we do section 8’s, it’s from PM companies that I can’t say no to...

theres ares of town I refuse to service..
I did a radio ad just for the neck of it. I had 3 or 4 price shoppers call. I could tell it wasn't my normal base of referrals or repeat.
Genny called one section 8 job and said she didn't have time to clean for them anymore and they said Ohhh no we will wait you are our cleaner and added more work.
We are priced too low on the work Genny does but I'm on the high side. Genny is growing and I'm slower but I'm making more yearly than I use to.

True. Very little need to do any advertising once you are established.
If you are known for doing exceptional work, your customers will advertise for you.
I'm booked 2-3 weeks out, and I rarely answer my phone.

John, Do you have an online booking option? I think I'm busy enough with a solid client base where I may be able to make that work now. What do you use and is it easy to integrate with my website?

I don't know the specifics other than that you're handing your daily activities over to your neurotic pothead redding customers

Go to fiddlebug.com and check it out

They are looking for market share.

When was the last time you saw a Lamborghini commercial.

WELL, excuse ME!

I thought I was speaking to carpet cleaning owner ops. I had no idea it was a group of lambo owners. 😉

Seriously I did forgot who I was speaking to. Most owner ops do not look at growth as most businessmen would.

Instead they see it as an added burden. Something that challenges their casual life style.

You can't wait to see the kids off on the bus clean a job and come home for lunch, do another before rushing to pickup the kids to take to soccer practice. Oh and absolutely, positively no weekends.

I never saw that kind of life. We worked when there was work. Available around the clock 24-hours a day.

Nobody drove lamborghinis but we sure wished we could have. No silver spoon here.

But Mea culpa! 🤭

Well Genny is at the 5 story house by herself today and I just finished a tile job. Working tomorrow too.

How many Stanley steamer owners are buying lambs?
It isn't the franchise's getting rich.

But nothing wrong with taking weekends off and vacations. It's nice having free time if you call it that during the week to get massages and see the chiropractor.

But you'reright owner operators will probably never get rich doing things yourself but I don't think that's the goal. For me I hate paying advertising.

It's a personal choice. That is the great thing of being an independent owner, you decide how much you want to work..

My father loved working, from day break to night fall, that guy loved it. I got a little of that in me...but not a lot.

I don't mind work, I don't even mind hard work, it feels good to sweat and accomplish something. But I enjoy a break too. Time with the wife, kids and hearing about their lives. I worked too much when they were small, now it's fun just hanging out with them.

To answer mikes question if you are the highest priced in town why would you advertise to the masses? It's obviously not your target market.
My radio ad got me mostly orice shoppers but I am working up a bid for a hotel that I think called from the ad. I haven't asked yet.
