So, after joining this board I am convinced that I must have a CRB. My question is what would be the best brand and size unit to purchase. I will be using it primarily on trashed out rentals to save my old man back from having to do so many wand passes and also think it may save me a few bucks on my chemical bill. Keep in mind that I will probably be unloading this machine 4-5 jobs a day and also that all of my rentals are empty when I do them so they are wide open. Thanks!

a big. FWIW LOL,
for doing those trashed rentals I prefer my 175 with a tank and shower feed through an aggressive pad.(usually green).
I do have a CRB, not the flavor of choice around here, but I picked it up for next to nothing and it does work well. And,it has solution tanks .
but if you're going to use it in the trash rentals and I do a lot of them, bang for the buck my 175 does much better. and you can probably pick one up a lot cheaper. for those rentals, a smaller one is ideal. You're not doing a lot of wide-open areas usually, like a big commercial area.

I do like the crb on carpet that is a little thicker, in a residential.

I use an OP to scrub nasty carpet. For me, the only benefit of the CRB is it's lighter, but scrubs nowhere near as effectively as the OP, or rotary. CRB's do dig out pet hair, etc, but still...

10 inch CRB is the way to go. 15 inch is good if all you do is empties.. but 10 can go pretty much go everywhere

Deke, searchtempest.com is your friend. Scrounge up any crb at the price you can afford. It does dig hair out and it is wonderful at softening clumpy things.

From your description and if you have the money, get the 10” Austrian model and don’t look back.

I got my 10" Austrian made CRB from http://zipperwand.com and love it. I'm not sure it works any better the my 175 rotary but I can tell you as 66 year old and 40yr veteran of the wand the CRB is what you want. It will come off the van when needed and you won't have to take a double dose of Advil that night.
