I have 3 wool rugs with silk highlights that we are currently cleaning. How do you fluff up the silk part after cleaning them? The picture is of an area that is still wet.
Thank you for your replies.

Hey Luis, I think I did Lisa Wagners' "Rugs to Run From" course with you at Heirloom Rugs, in Chicago a few years back ??

Is it true silk, or "art silk".

Whenever I see silk, I'm always reminded of Gary H Heacock, sadly, Gary passed away last May.

Shorty.

After it dried I would simply and carefully brush it out.. if its rinsed out well and there are no residues, it should brush out to soft again..

Shorty, different Luis and yes it is silk. Thanks Zee; it should be free of residue, we flushed them forever until the water ran clear. What brush do you think will work best?

A good beater bar vacuum should do it

I think some of the lower quality Nain rugs use rayon.

Harry Myers really really wanted to get his point across

Luis, I sometimes just use a regular hand brush with soft bristles.. sometimes like Randy said a vacuum cleaner..sometimes a grooming brush. I have done a hand steamer with a wire brush too on some silk.
