Is there a monthly charge or something? Or do you just buy the software and buy stuff when you need it?

I don't believe I would want to put my customer list into something where if I miss a month I don't have access to it.

Is there a program out there that is for us cleaners that I can put on my computer for a few hundred bucks?

Brian,

Service CEO has a scaled down version for about 1000.00. I don't think they advertise the option as they would rather cell the larger version.

I looked into it earlier this year but I don't have the client base for something lke that yet.

you only pay for one route or unlimited routes.
The marketing power it has is worth much more
than any program I haver used. Including Profitmaster,
service ceo, camelot, and quickbooks. Profitmaster is
ok too. http://www.profit-master.com/

Are you able to keep your customer list on an excel spread or something like that or can you only access it from their site?

Yeah you can export to excel or quick books if you want or a
cdv or what ever they call that one.
What I love about it is I can schedule jobs at my office
and print work orders (route packets) 8 miles across town
where my shop is located.
Or I can forward my office phones to my house
or my cell at the beach(with a wireless card) and
have the schedule and database with me when ever I need it.
I also have a retired lady that calls old clients for me
to try to update my 40 year old database
for correct addresses and phone numbers
from her house, so she can log on and do
her calls. You can grant users to have access to only what you want.
My techs can get on at home and see whats on the schedule, but they
cant see anything else.

The most important thing that they can do for you is this:
After you clean a customers carpet they automatically send
a high quality thankyou card (looks like a wedding invite), you have full control of what it says
it also is personilized with the customers name (Dear Mrs. Piff). It has
your signiture on it (they scan it) and they can insert 3 business cards in it, in my case I use 3 $20 referral
cards. Every monday when you log on it gives you a list of people to be mailed to. You check a box
next to there name and add or remove them from the mailing. you aprove it they mail it, they charge
your credit card or debit card $1.25 per mailing. This is working really well for me!

Thats not where it ends, after 3 months they send an informational mailing to the customer from you
to keep your name in front of them. After 6 months it sends another reminder card, after a year another
reminder. After 18 months it sends them "hey your carpets are overdue" card with a discount if you desire.
After 24 months it sends a "where the hell have you been" card with a discount if you desire.
At any time in the 24 month cycle a customer calls and has more work done, they start over at the thankyou
card again. You will be the cleaner of choice no matter what.
I have also tracked an increased frequency of cleanings and referrals

You have full control of the content of the cards and if you dont want to mail to certin people
you dont have to.
This whole thing is called Fill my schedule and its optional to participate in.
They also have prospect builder that mails postcards to prospects in neighborhoods you want to
work in based on people you allready service.

My residental cleaning has been doing very well but hasnt grown this fast in 5 years until
I started doing this a year ago.

Wow, thanks for the info Kevin...do you own stock in the company? Good sale.

I got the online demo from them and have the over the phone (and online) demo scheduled for 10am today. I played around with it last night and I liked everything it did.

Biggest sellers for me?
The mailers of course
Can use it from any computer with internet
Can give a password to my techs so they can get the next day orders and I won't have to email it.

I can store a lot more info than on QuickBooks ...of course I will still use QB for my accounting
Oh, and Service Monster works WITH QB as well.

I don't see how this can be a bad thing.

Really, Thanks for you help.

I am setting it up here in about 10 minutes.
I gotta get this guy to lower the set up fee.

Damn I hate when someone wants me to lower my prices....
But that's different.

Ok, I did it and have been playing with it.
I scheduled some jobs and set up some new accounts.

Just have to get my QuickBooks info to them and I am good to go.

I was able to get some free marketing from them but they wouldn't lower the set up fee....bastards.
