It's funny I micro manage EVERYTHING! ! I lost my first customer over equipment failure(I was out of town, not that that is an excuse) this year and I feel like I dropped the ball.. The IICRC is a complete JOKE, as far as anything and everything...

The IICRC IS a complete joke, and these people telling me how to clean is even funnier. .

All I know if I treated customers the way the IICRC treated me I would loose them and be out of business. I email them at the email that was given earlier, we will see how this goes.

I would kind of expect them to waive this years fee for the hassle and poor service, but doubt that will happen. I know personal $50 to keep a customer of mine happy is well worth it and I a tiny company compared to the IICRC.

If any other company had failed so miserably at picking up the reins I suspect they would have been summarily fired for breach of contract. I have to wonder why Metacred is still around?

At my corporate day job it is considered unethical for me (a paid employee) to have any interest in a company that acts as a supplier or service provider to my employer, and is absolutely not permitted on penalty of termination. There is a reason for that......

I said I'd stop posting but I need to clear up what seems to be a continuing misconception. David Rozsa is the executive director of the IICRC per the IICRC's contract with Metacred. In other words, when Metacred was hired by the IICRC, the contract stipulated that David would be the E.D. There is no conflict of interest.

do they need someone to run security?
(to protect your assets from hostile indian attacks)

$60K a year and a new house in Gardnerville (with utilities included) and I'll run it for you.
Doesn't have to be a big house...1400-1600 sf ranch w/basement and attached double car garage is more than fine.

There is no conflict of interest.

Three questions:

  • Is David compensated for his position at IICRC?
  • Does he make a profit from being CEO at Metacred?
  • As E.D. does he have any influence as to whether Metacred is spanked (or fired) for poor performance?
Putting it on paper doesn't make it right.

I'm sorry, but this is becoming ridiculous. This is business 101. Not complicated. Not in the least bit unethical.

David's company, Metacred, has a contract to provide administrative services to the IICRC. Part of the contract stipulates that David will serve as executive director. He is not an employee of the IICRC.

To question one: No.

To question two: No. His company makes a profit, he is paid a salary by Metacred as an employee of the company.

To question three: No. But when Metacred's performance is reviewed, as CEO I am sure he will be the one who will defend Metacred's performance.

You all have broken me. It has been a waste of my time to try to help people understand what is going on. You all want to hate on the IICRC, go ahead. You all want to build absurd conspiracy theories, go ahead. I'm done.

John,

I ask a very straight forward question when I started this thread. I do not hate or do I have any malase toward the IICRC.

I have invested hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars in training, traveling to trade shows to maintain my continuing education credits and paying my year dues. My registration number is 5667 so I was in the first wave of registrants. I have been patient with the multiple changes in admin that always promised to give us more value for the money we spent supporting the IICRC. Simply returning phone calls and inquiries is not to much to ask.

And by the way, I would be glad to serve and help if needed.<a href="http://s267.photobucket.com/user/ronbeatty/media/IMG_0675_zpsqyd2a8en.jpg.html"

You're right about one thing, this is becoming ridiculous. Sorry that the cleaners in the trenches (whom this industry is built on) aren't familiar with the ins and outs of corporate and non-profit governance.

Don't make this about that because, regardless, the IICRC is still currently a joke.

I am personally registrant #181.

I would like IICRC to get with it and recognize my employee's association with my company and provide him with a current certificate recognizing all his certifications. He has paid up his dues. There is a cashed check to prove it. Many months have gone by without the proper follow-up documentation from IICRC. He holds at least 10 certifications that were paid for and dues associated with them brought to current status last year and followed up again at the turn of the year. This is ridiculous to say the least.

I don't think that's a fair characterization, John
while I appreciate you coming into the "lion's den".....
none of your "explanations" have helped us understand how things have gone from bad to worse, to worser

No John,
We don't need to understand.
We just want you to fix your issues.
Do you have a timetable on when your issues will be resolved?
Do you think that the people on this board are the only ones who are complaining.
I receive several calls a week from "our" customers asking us the same questions about the IICRC. Not all of the calls are pleasant to say the least.
I do not tell them that I'm broken or that I'm done.
If you'd like I can start using your approach and tell them to more or less piss off.
Actually I would never ignore my customers or tell them they're wasting my time.
I value my customers and realize that they make my business.

John, sorry this is so painful for you. Your responses have indeed been helpful and informative. While the situation I bring up may be legal and ethical given the conditions you state, I personally think it is a poor choice of structure for the desired outcome. IMHO YMMV....

I think the main thing for me (and probably many others) is we are struggling to see how the current situation exists - we get the line that the issues are complex, nightmarish, nearly insurmountable, but it just doesn't seem that hard to answer the phones and return emails. Why are things that are "business 101" to everyone else so difficult for this organization?

The theories are being concocted because of the vacuum (lack) of information that we currently have.

Give me a reasonable, detailed explanation of why returning emails and answering the phone is so hard and I'll shut up......

And very worthy of an answer IMO

Either from John or some other rep of the IICRC

We're told that money is in the bank. Great!

Now hire someone to perform the most basic operations of any business or organization, non profit or otherwise.

and FYI John, Ray is a supplier, a supplier who holds IICRC classes at his shop.

He too deserves not to be blown off as you are appearing to do here as the questions get a bit more inconvenient.

Or how about you tell Tony Wheelwright to come take over here.

Seeing he was a founding father of this forum, I feel it's his duty to represent the IICRC here, seeing how if it were not for "us"...

He wouldn't be there in the 1st place..

Cause the boogie man stole the internet and phone lines at the IICRC.

I'm a independent distributor that generates around $20,000 annually in revenues for the IICRC. This does not include residuals.
CMS has been in business since 1987. I can't begin to imagine the revenues that we have generated over the years for the IICRC.
The Aramsco (Interlink) or Jon Don generate substantially more than we do at CMS.
Distributors are dealing every day with your problems. The people on the board are expressing their frustrations.
You get to read the concerns and just Click it off when you want.
We have to answer our phones
I hate it when they are calling about the IICRC and have nothing to tell them.
Please help me understand and give me hope why I should continue with your organization.
John,
It's that bad

Waldo's top 25 list is the alternative. Tough minded, independent, well informed.

And those bestowed by the master, can bestow upon others. :yoda:

Alternative. I see.

If Metcred are now in charge of fixing the issues that everyone is complaining about, I only have two questions:

How long have they been in charge??

How soon do they expect these problems to be addressed and resolved to the satisfaction of all that have attended courses, paid dues, etc;??

To my way of thinking, if Metcred are dragging the ball, they need to be dropped without any financial payments and someone with the common sense to sort this mess out put in charge.

To Mikey's credit, this forum has had the guts to speak out about the slack-arsed way the IICRCA is doing business with THEIR CUSTOMERS.

If I was a person looking for education & certification, I would certainly be looking elsewhere after reading the pathetic responses given.

One other thing, because this mob requires me to pay for the years I have not been a member, & the fact that I would have to undergo further training is absurd, therefore I SHALL NOT BE RE-JOINING THE IICRC/A.

I don't need them.

Guys, our money speaks the loudest.

Stop sending this once respectable organization your hard earned money. It's obviously not being well spent.

The success of all of our businesses depends on how we manage our profit.

I didn't even read this thread until just now because it looked like old news to me.

I think I was right.

if only their were an alternative..
Mike, The only way an alternative organization could fill this gap is if it recognized the certifications already attained and then built on them. I have no interest in starting this unfulfilling nightmare over. I will survive without any certification.
