I spent 7 hours yesterday polishing out a shower. Cerium oxide for the glass and granite sides, compound for the travertine upper (soft sheen) and the floor was a hot mess.
Black marble, 4" tiles.
Efflorescence everywhere, lime buildup of 1/16" to 1/8" thick along edges and the grout where the shower heads dripped.
I scraped and scrubbed. Used Renew and a concrete brightener. Honed from 120-800, polished out and it looked lovely.
Until it dried completely. Then I could still see scratches, and significant lime still at the edges.
Gotta redo it. Now I am sad. My back hurts, my arms hurt, my neck hurts and my feelings are hurt. And I seem to weigh 700 pounds.
