Its more like Polyester than "Type 6" nylon is like "Type 6,6" nylon.

It still seems to love oil and its resilience is suspect.

Ok shorty, you have seen the all the thread about Mohawk Smartstrand I presume. Well they got tired of people calling it a nylon, polyester corn hybrid (mostly getting mad about the difference between a polyester PET fiber and their PTT fiber.) So they pushed through the Federal Trade Commision to sanction the Smartstrand PTT as a new type of fiber that has no association with Polyester. Its corn based and has an afinity for oil.
