Hey, JB.....I know from personal experience that the smell never goes away. My Powermatic was an example. That smell got on your clothes from the first engine crank every day. After I pulled the PM out of the van, I couldn't get that smell out of the van.

But....you sure couldn't beat the heat!!

JB, don't spill it in the van and it won't stink.

don't burn diesel fuel and it doesn't stink while in use
maybe RW's wasn't adjusted right if he had odor probs?
If he burnt diesel fuel, I KNOW it stunk up the van, but K-1 and a properly adjusted burner doesn't stink

You won't smell any kero fumes in my van.
exhaust and oil breather smells that happen with every slide -in, but no kero odor
Come take a wiff
I wouldn't poke my head in the waste tank, though....

Third here.

Every once in a while I'll accidentally disconnect the fuel source (Waste hose sits near the fuel tank. ) and it huffs and puffs for a second till I reconnect and bleed.

Then again, Al and I are in box rigs so...

I've also recently had to use diesel in a pinch and found the new "low sulphur" diesel burns way hotter than the Kero I've been using for years and doesn't smell hardly at all.
