Stay away from ebay when needing a coupler

Ebay is a dumping ground for old expired stock. These couplers have a shelf life of 5-8 years acording to the manufacture. Anything after that the components can degrade / dry rot.

If listing has no box, DONT BUY! most likely old stock. I would not buy off of ebay regardless if in original updated box. Might have been bait n switch. How do i know? Live and learn the hard way when doing a job and your machine clunks out because coupler failer.

Buy direct or reputable distributor




Ebay dump. Fortunately lasted thru the job when i spotted it.

Wondered why they failed throughout the years while on a job. Dry rot dump from ebay.

I bought a chinese coupler off Amazon for $18. I know you don't like Bezos and to buy local, well the slant eye coupler is still going.. I did run my old LoveJoy with a rip in it for longer than I should have but it did work..

Ran like a champ...with a leaking water box, which rusted out the van floor.

A quick check with a infrared thermometer on the flange closest to the engine will show you why a lot of couplers fail prematurely. The radiant temperature transferring to the coupler from the engine and sometimes the exhaust is way beyond the 250-275 degree limitations of epdm coupler sleeves.
