I don't have experience with the Vibrance. But, I've had my 8lb SL5 Supralight for almost a year, and I love it. It is light, I can do stairs, it picks up hair very well, it has a auto shut off if something jams the beater (shoe lace, string etc..). It outperforms my Dyson at home, even after using the Dyson. Made in USA. Check this video that shows the agitation, which is true. Enjoy

Ohh yeah it's loud. Consumer Reports also ranked Riccar high, but complained about the noise. I think it is just pure performance in my opinion, so I don't mind. It's expensive, but quality costs $$. You will be happy.
