I tested one room, and experimented with samples. So far, the cleaning ability surprised me. The room looks clean and bright (but no spills yet).

The product does not claim or appear to have a fluoropolymer, and is not therefore not a complete protector. The tests work like advertized; but if cleaned or spotted with a detergent, and red dye 40 is reapplied, it will stain. Basically, it is protecting dye sites until the area is cleaned again.

I see it as a unique benefit, but would be careful to not sell it as a complete protector (Steve never claims it is). As he says, its worth an extra 5-10 cents (I would say 3-6 cents in my area). It would be great for houses with nylon and kids that have newer carpet that just needs a boost, but dont want to pay for a full protector.
