Hydro Force sprayer,

It seems that my Hydroforce sprayer is not really putting out enough chemical.
I went the route of 4 to 1, when I first got it.
I checked the small filter it's clean, and I can see the foam from the prespray on the carpet, it just that I can go a few weeks without refilling the container when I use to fill it every couple days.
I figured something is clogged somewhere.

Can anyone help?

I often use 2 jugs a job at 4to1. One jug on smaller jobs. I lay it down heavy.
You can get a repair kit for about $35 but I woukd buy a new one if i had it awhile.

You said you checked the small filter?? The hydraforce has 3 by my account. 1 inside the jug at the end of the pickup tube 1 at the quick connect inside the handle and possibly 1 at the spray tip especially if you have a tee jet it'll have a ball check strainer (looks like the one in the handle but has a sping loaded check valve to stop drips) also can have a ball check strainer screwed into the back of a vee jet but i don't think that comes standard from hydraforce so when you said you checked the small filter which one? Do you have a real hydroforce or a cheap Chinese knock off?

After monkeying around with mine on and off problems, buying parts and dealing with jerk chicken vendors….i decided to go the route of 5 gallon sprayer with wheels.

I pimped it out by changing the pump to higher psi, changed the wand to hydroforce pump up sprayer i had laying around, installed a more flexible hose. Changed the tip. Easier mobility.

Never looked back.
Works for me.

That hose that's attached to the barb inside the HF dries and gets stiff, which will start to pull air up in the hose, causing less pull. Put a fresh hose on it and see how it works. If it still doesn't pull any chemicals, just replace the dema

Yeah i need to replace mine again. It starts sucking air at the barb. Ive had to flip mine upside down to get it to draw in the past. Its an easy way to check it.

He could be mixing the prespray to thick also. I only add 3 scoops to a gallon and use soft water. It lasts so much longer now. Ive been trouble free for about 6 or 7 years with this one other than the feed tube drying out and cracking. It only lasts a couple years.

I drilled out the yellow plastic metering valve larger, but still not refilling the jug for weeks. I need to check the o-ring, but I did lightly stretch the spring and the ball moves fine, just not pulling the product. So I just removed the yellow metering valve after my last job, we'll see if that changes things. You told me on my last Hydroforce, to remove the yellow metering valve and use 4 scoops and that produced great results. TY

Honestly I love hate the hydro sprayers too expensive and I can’t seem to keep them in service for a long time
But
They are super convenient and seem to have the monopoly

Same here. I think in 20 years I've owned 2 and the 2nd one replaced the metering block once.

I disagree, i keep 3 hydroforces on my van and all i do is change the hose and wand(it connects thru hollowed out ¼ quick connects) 2 are for presprays 1 for odor control products. I only use powdered presprays and liquid odor products and they all seem to wear the same. Ive found the biggest problems have beem when using non hydroforce brand dema valves even the wanders stainless ones are problematic (i bought 5 only 3 worked good outa the box and only 2 are still in service. About to test his repair for life policy) so in short hydroforce brand good Chinese knockoffs not so good

I have very few problems with mine. I have them all at 4-1. I use a lot of powdered products but I mix them in a pail with hot water and stir well before pouring them into the sprayer. Periodically, I flush them out with a non detergent acid like Ultra Chem Labs neutralizer.

just my 2 cents but now that Ive added OSR to prespray for overall pet odor jobs (which seems to work really well) but found that the ingredients of OSR are not HDF freindly, I have decided to purchase an additional HDF specifically for pet odor jobs.

That's what i do.i like not having to change jugs all the time. Plus it's nice to have a spare sprayer on the truck. I don't like all the hoses and wands , so what i did was as old 1/4 quick connects went bad i would use a punch and pound the centers outa um then put females on sprayers and males on hose and wand and ill use 2 sprayers but 1 wand and hose. I have another one tucked away in the van for those times i want 2 setups or something breaks on the main one

I realize that nobody here wants to hear anyone else’s prespray recommendations, but if you guys would buy one jug of Primetime enzyme and a gallon of P-Sor from Soap Daddy, I think you’d throw away your normal pet urine products and also your favorite residential prespray. It’s all I use for both normal AND pet urine jobs. I do keep some Saigercide on hand for those jobs that want a “smell good” to linger.

I’ve also been told that War On Pee from Encapstore is good, and it sounds like a similar product to Primetime Enzyme, but I don’t personally know … never tried it.

Dry slurry and odorcide. Odorcide in my rinse always and in my hydoforce. If its stinky more odorcide in the hydroforce.

Everything smells good always. No mold in my rinse jug. Ever.

When I used OSR I had issues. Shut up marty. I had started just using it to pour on spots but now I dont to do that.

2 products for 90 maybe 95% of my jobs.

Soft water from home on 99% of my jobs. Ive eliminated so many problems this way. Same hoses for 6 plus years with 200 degree plus temps.

One other option to try before buying a new one is to run an acid through it. You can use your tile cleaning acid or even descaler. Pull the tube out of the jug, run water through, then stick the tube into a jug or bottle with your acid, squeeze the trigger until you see foam on the ground. Let it sit for an hour and flush it out. If you're lucky, it will be spraying like new.

I usually replace the draw hose those crack and lose draw, the metal housing for the spring and ball bearing can come loose, that will cause you to loose draw.

Those two things are mostly my problems.

I have a hydro force from Cobbs that has lasted well over 3 years.

I've had to replace the hose to the gun once.

And my gun leaks doah!

So I use the ball valve alot.

I hate the square handled guns on some sprayers.

To much hand fatigue.

I think those are the ones Saigers uses.

They don't last any longer either.

Please don't jinx me! I never put liquid in my HF either I'm gonna order war on pee
and see how it does. I have a specific reason in mind instead of Psor.

2 I know still work the other im not sure of.
The one I'm not sure of i got in 06. The others are about 10 years old maybe.
Maybe I will test them all out on this moldy rug.
