i just had a very interesting talk with a guy i know who owns the local servpro franchise. i've know him for 3 years, really nice guy, franchise is only three years old. seems his lead tech quit ( to start his own cc biz) and he needs me to help him pickup the slack until he hires someone new. he even hinted at some form of business "partnership" but no details were discussed. do or have any of you guys done anything like this before. he really wants to focus on the wd stuff and stay away from cc. i have no desire to work for anyone so is there a middle ground ? maybe a referral fee for the work he sends me?

thanks
matt

I do sub work for a large restoration company. My prices are lower than his wehn he overflows he gives me a call to check my availability. He pays me what I charge and he collects from the customer.

Subcontracting can work. No partnerships.

Either of you can quit for any reason at any time.

I subcontracted to several other cleaners, and had others subcontract to me.

Ummm.... why does he not use his former employee to subcontract or "partner?"

or there is a noncompete in place which may void that if he asked him to do work for his clients
