My limited understanding tells me that you'd be better looking at the PowerClean range.
Slightly more compact units with smaller foot prints, VARIABLE speed settings instead of idle, uph and carpet settings.
I personally haven't seen and used the Champ but I do have a fellow CCer who I network with closely who runs a BlueWave.
Of course, distributers, sales and service will come into play but at least do yourself a favour and look into them.
