Alternatives to spray foam insulation

I should've already done something, but up until now I figured I was going to shut down my machine. But the idea of not using it for 5+ months is not a happy thing.

Spray foam requires 75 degrees for the foam to properly expand and insulate, and I need that temp with the doors open. So that's out. I'm thinking of using double faced 1.5" to 2" roll insulation and adhering it with 3m spray adhesive 90 cans. Anyone done something similar to this with their vans?

The floor has bed liner on it. But I'll probably lay roll insulation down underneath and around everything near the power pack and plumbing to reduce cold from the floor...

Reflectix bubble insulation is thin and claims a high R value, but part of me feels that something close to 2" thick will do better than some shiny bubble wrap.

Foam insulation really uglies a nice setup. If I were you, I would carpet the floors and walls and possibly the ceiling if you’re good with your adhesive

It would insulate both in temperature AND sound

Carpet doesn't have great insulating qualities. How about I screw in some brown board/masonite sheets over the tacked up insulation across the walls and roof.

I'm going with rockwool batt insulation covered with masonite screwed into the sheet metal ribs. I think it will look nice, and it is a great insulator. The rockwool is less susceptible to moisture problems than fiberglass. I'll seal all the sheet metal ribs or whatever they are called with expanding foam, and test the roof ones first to ensure they dont push the exterior sheet metal outwards and make it look weird.

This took me all weekend. Everything takes a long time. There are 2 more sections to do over the waste tank, and I will do this to parts of the doors too. I think it came out good enough. Thanks for saying something about how awful the insulation would look Woody. Thinking about covering it from the beginning helped it all come together. This thing will be toasty warm!

Next weekend I am going to epoxy my waste tank, finally received the Caswell gas tank epoxy. Then I can insulate the floor and put plywood over it in the rear storage area. Probably pink foam board and osb. Not sure what to do to insulate around all my plumbing and the power pack. I'd just stuff rock wool all around it but I don't want to be inhaling rock wool particles all the time. Nor do I want a mess of loose junk around all my hoses and machine parts. Maybe I'll just get a few blankets from the thrift store and chop em up.

I hope not. Rock wool insulation is more resistant to mold growth than fiberglass insulation is. They say it is hydrophobic and resists moisture as well 🤞

I might use it for my metal building as a first layer on the walls. The ceiling i had done with closed cell spray foam.
I think you will be happy with what you did. It looks good.
