the easy part was pulling it out....what was going to be tricky was having the vacuum reel..and possibly the solution reel sitting on a pivoting plate........

if your hoses come out the back...and you have to park on the street...it would be great to slide the reels out...and pivot them towards the door.....drop a locking pin in it to keep it from moving...
finish the job..everything is a straight pull back onto the reel....pivot it back and slide it into the van......

You are stuck on making a difficult solution to a simple problem.

Exactly. Either one rotating brush or 2 small counter rotating brushes. One of my favorite all time powerwashing was the old rug Doctor power brush. Slow because you used it like a drag wand. Effective because of the scrubbing action. Imagine if you could push something like that back and forth like a zipper

Are you wanting to track it through each step of the process? Inspection/Identification, dusting, washing, rinsing, drying, final inspection, ready for delivery/pickup? Automatic customer notifications as its going through the process? Ticket system the client could be issued ticket number for each rug and see where it's at in the process based on what the technician has entered. Photos/documentation storage?

Barcode scanning? Need to sync information with any other programs or software? Do you need different user permissions? Dealing with payments? Mobile app?

I've thought about this quite a bit the last year.

Rug identification App would be awesome.

A vacuum that has a beater brush that goes to the edge on both sides. Back in the 80s when i did nightly office cleaning i used a German made vacuum cleaner called a mighty maid it wasn't very powerful but it was extremely maneuverable and went to the edge on both sides of the beater brush. Its big downside was that it pulled the dirt thru the vacuum impeller (like a kerby) if you picked up a penny from under a desk it would jam and take 15-20 minutes to unjam. I really really wish my windsor 12s would go to the edge on both sides!!

I'd like to see incorporated in that a washing device that automatically washes the hoses when you roll them back into the van with the hoses on a motorised reel.

I built 4 of um outa a hoser, a ball joint, a parallelogram bicycle carrier and a few assorted parts. It mounts on the back of the van . I can automatically clean hoses when i put um in or when i take um out. I have one on each of my vans. Its simple to setup and use . I use it on every job, every time i put my vacuum back in the van sometimes 3 or4 times a day. I have dedicated hoses so setup take no time at all, just connect the solution& vacuum hose. It works best with an electric hose reel but can be used manually. I made a YouTube video search "hoser gimble mount "to see a 4minute video. It attaches to the van thru a 2" receiver trailer hitch. I even made an 8" offset because my hose reel isn't centered. Added benefit is that i had it lettered to imply that i care this much more than competitors. I clean my hoses, i get alot of comments and compliments on it even more than the iklean2 and iclean2 license plates on the vans

Matt....let me say....i too bought de-foamer...for the 1st 10 or so years...
I was dumb. .......after that i never used a defoam of anykind AND never de-scaled anything.....and I run emulsifier all thru my system. ..
Go figger that now....
But i really wonder wth i even bother to. ..

I still carry powdered defoamer on all my trucks. I only need it once or twice a year and not for anything i use but i do run into them stupid ass customers that buy and use glory or some other foamy home cleaner by the truck load and life and work without it in that situation gets hard!!

I hate hitting a foamy area and going through the process of stopping to get the jug and sprinkling it everywhere.

Just turning a valve on the tank to get it sucked in our hoses would be nice to kill the foam quickly to prevent time loss.

It would be a good add-on to our current setups with APO's, inline sprayers, and even bigger truckmounts to hold steady heat. Whatever keeps the technician moving at a steady pace, makes the most money

Today, with the amount of VLM being done with high foaming products (you might be surprised the crap that is being used out there), and the increase of wool carpet and rugs that might require a higher foaming product for preconditioning, this might be an idea worth revisiting.

The wand mount defoamer attachment worked basically the same as this pictured below but incorporated a 12oz bottle and bottle holder. You had to drill a small hole to allow the defoamer to be applied. The draw backs were that the bottle had to be constantly refilled and it did address the problem of foam in the tank. However the problem of loss of vacuum was still there because the defoamer was introduced a couple of feet away from the carpet cleaning and you still had a wad of foam blocking till it reached the point of injection. I used one briefly on a drag wand in the early 80s
with the drag wand the weight of the defoamer was not an issue neither was laying the wand down and having it leak out . they still have versions of the inline defoamer attachments available if your looking for something to waste money on. A bit of advice, a better use for that money would be to light the charcoal for a barbecue

I made one out of PVC with 2 valves on it. One to supply the hose to the vac hose connected at the wand and the other to open at the bottom to feed the defoamer when the feed hose valve is opened.. Very simple and effective. Mine was just bulky and I put it together with what I had on hand in my storage building. If I had time to mess around again, I would find a something to connect and be mounted on the wand better

first glance i said "i want 1!" I thought it would be great in tiny homes, travel trailers & 5th wheels at the present time i use eighter my rx20 oe scrub wand to clean and a special 12"-5jet drag wand to rinse ive been looking for a good used roto vac for cleaning when i came across this i thought even better, till i looked into it first problem is its Italian and supplier is in Italy so parts??? Next the spray jets are at the back of the motorized brushes and the vacuum is in the front , so in the video shows it cleaning from the wall back theres a strip the width of the brush not getting cleaning solution plus its a thousand bucks. So with that said, Anybody out there got a good roto brush there looking to unload. Im still looking for one

Would be better if it had 3 brushes, maybe 4. Honestly, power brushes have been around for ages. I used to use a Steam Valet power brush in the eighties. Cleaned the Olympic stadium with one after Expo 86. Terrific tool but slow and water hungry.

She said the stuff the crew sprinkled the defoamer and now the carpet in front of the sliding glass door is all bleached out. I had to point out to her that the defoamer was only used to minimize the foam that was chocking the vacuum which was a result of her using some home DIY remedy to clean her carpet. She wasn't convinced until I pointed out an area that wasn't bleached which was the exact size and shape of an area rug she uses. There was no way that we would have been able to "bleach" her carpet in that exact pattern.

We see the photo fading/Ozone fading here.. Anywhere air touches the carpet, it will fade.. Not to be confused with sun fading both direct and indirect sunlight.. The blue is the first color to go in the carpet.. Anything that sits flat on the carpet will be the original color..

Or the BHT in the latex, which causes the yellowing.. Off-gassing of Plasticizer migration to the carpet..

I just hate when the sun fades in front of the sliding doors, making the carpet disintegrate..
