What has it been, 18 years or so since Ken Harris, Lisa and Greenie brought the round teflon glide to the industry?

How many cleaners do we have now that have never used a glideless wand?

Glides have not only made it so that our bodies last longer but equally, if not more important, they made the industry as a whole "better", wouldn't you agree?

Cleaner carpets, drier carpets, happier cleaners and happier customers. Happier customers indeed, kinda amazing that all this happened without the general public ever realizing what was going on. I can still recall those first few weeks of using a glide and pointing out to my customers the white thing down there and what it was doing, the "yeah sure Mike, that sounds great" still rings in my ears..lol.. Little did they know...

Don't forget all those little fringe benefits such as less damage to base boards, transition areas, furniture etc, all thanks to a round stick of virgin Teflon.

Some may want to argue that a wand without a Glide cleans better and quicker, quicker until you're done with a sub standard job, maybe, but certainly not better. Think about it, Glides essentially FORCE you to clean according to the standards, both in the IICRC sense and in the logical and moral sense as well.

Glides force you to pre-vacuum, they force you to apply more and better pre-spray, Glides also force you to pre-scrub too, why? because the glide took away the agitation that cleaners for over 40 years relied on to "wandscrub" the soil loose. Scrubbing with your wand over wets carpet if you're a newer cleaner and have never tried it on a daily basis..

We can go into and argue over increased air velocity theories and all that but that's really neither here nor there. The cumulative results of pre vacuuming, pre spraying, dwell time and or pre scrubbing, followed by a slow methodical Glided wand rinse and (most importantly) DRY STROKES, is what the Glide has forced us into including into a process that for 90% off all pile carpet, is the most effective way to remove soil.
The other 10 percent will need rotary extraction which can also benefit from Teflon but we wont go there today.

If you cleaned carpet before the revolution, how have Glides changed your life, business and cleaning results?

If you're new to the game and have had the fortunate blessing of not knowing any better, go clean a room or with an old school wand and share your thoughts.

Green glides have been the longest lasting glide I have owned my previous glide that was factory made was already wearing apart. I used nothing but a regular old fashion steamway international three jet wand my first five years. It was something to get use to. I do remember agitation with wand hints why I bought a Crb before I purchased a glide wand. My first glide wand was the zipper hands down one of the best commercial wands existed. My second glide wand was the sapphire 14 inch with a factory glide. It lasted about six months before it started moving side to side. Green glides elemenated this issue by adding stock on the inside preventing side to side wear. Over all the Teflon last longer and I really love the added benefit of easy clean on my back shoulder and elbow

Met Greenie and Lisa at an IICRC class in June 2004. During a break, he showed me these white sticks he was experimenting with. Don't think he'd sold any yet. I didn't fully understand the concept at the time. We stayed in touch and I got one of the first Greenhorns, glides for my RX20, and stair tool as soon as they were available.

Wand glides really have enhanced quality and ease of work and enabled me to work longer than I would have without them.

Few days ago, I tested on one job without the glide. Big mistake.

I prevac all job, most of them anyways. I always dry stroke carpet. I still use rotary, only for trashed job.i almost stop using till I found the psi balance. Now I can clean 4 or 5 areas with out dumping..

The Mach12 is not designed to be used without a glide

Notice there are no metal lips.

Even Josh with GVF knows this..

Pressed in lips?

News to me, the slot is waaay too wide open.

Makes for a great internal fit glide though, excellent vacuum.

My Mach 12 came with pressed-in steel lips under the PMF teflon glide. Had to remove the lips to insert the internal-fit hole Green Glide.

yeah but those lips had "well nuts" to mount the 2 pc glide too, they were not meant to clean with
The teflon glide that came with my Mach 12 is one-piece. Fits over the pressed-on steel lips. Called Lisa after a few strokes with the PMF glide.

The PMF glide is a slot glide and I'm used to a hole glide. And the new carpet (solution-dyed nylon cut-pile) I tried the PMF glide on is harder to push a wand on. I've since cleaned that carpet with the GG hole glide, and the carpet is harder to push a wand on. So my problem was probably the rough carpet and being used to a hole glide more than a fault in the stock PMF glide. But the slot does seem wide on the PMF glide.

I have all three styles for the Mach12 w/ an Internal fit

I like the Green Glide better than Conway’s.

1. I ordered online on Saturday, received on Wednesday from across the country. Also, during ordering I was able to see the actual in stock amount. No hoping When I ordered it would actually be in stock. Then a shipping email with a tracking number.

2. Green Glide’s bridge and end relief cuts do make a considerable difference.

3. Green Glide’s teflon already seems more durable.

4. Re read #1.

I keep leaning on Mr. Conway to become a green glides distributor, especially for the brush glides...
