No clue why John decided to take on the project..it's a biz decision he made obviously cause he thought it was in his best interest .
as far as if i think he should of declined??...he didn't ask me, and he's a better biz man than I (almost everyone is :redface:

but i think there were too many "potential" after sale problems that he'd be unable to address ..that would of given me serious pause for concern and think long and hard about taking on the project.

I don't know anything of SS's policy of "protected territories" ...or even if they have such...I'm not privy to such info.

I personally DO like to support my local disty though, cause it supports my local economy
So unless they don't have what I use, or someone else is substantially less, there's no reason for me to go elsewhere

Maybe Dave got a $weetheart deal? ..and that's why he went so far from home..i donno...but again, I think it was a dumb move for all involved do to the risks vs rewards potential

I want to thank the few and I do mean few friends that stuck up for me here on the boards. If anyone took the time to understand the whole story ( I know it's hard when you read bits and pieces in a thread and a lot of side drama gets added,) you would know that I had a real customer service problem. All I wanted was for someone to go over my machine system by system to find out what was going on. I was sent to Nashville and was totally glossed over and no part of the system was checked. I was sent on my way with nothing more than instructions to get a block of wood and cover my vac blower to preheat it. No part of the heating system was checked. No part of the van was checked. Still blows my mind that no one ever commented on this or said they thought it was not right. If you had a new car that stalled at every light and took it to the dealer and he started the car and let it run 10 minutes then said I'll change your oil and then sent you on your way would you call that a good assessment of you problem? Would you think they would have looked at a few more things? That is basically what happened to me after I drove to Nashville (6 hour round trip). Would that not set you off? I will take responsibility for being naive and thinking buying a machine from John who is over 2000 miles away was not a big deal. I bought Butlers before with no service facility near by and the closest TM repair shop of any kind was 3 hours away so to me it was no big deal. I was wrong to think buying a tm was like buying a car. If you buy a Ford and you have issues you can take it to any Ford dealer and they will work with you gladly. It is not that way with a TM and I learned that the hard way. You better buy it from someone that is close because the maker of the machine does not want to be involved in that end of the business. They want to make it and get it to their dealers. They want the dealer to take care of any issues. I assumed the nearest Interlink dealer would be there for me if I had issues. Again my fault for not knowing that. Lesson learned. I also bought from John because I trust him and I wanted to support someone from the boards. He offered me a great deal and I was glad to work with him. I can assure you I will never buy anything from someone here again and I pity the next guy that gets a bad machine, bad customer service or a piece of equipment or cleaning product and tries to let other cleaners know about here. It's plain to see that if your wronged by someone, get a bad deal or poor customer service and you mention it you are the trouble maker and you're thrown under the bus. If you take the time to read everything I never put down the machine or called it a piece of junk or said I hated it. I just wanted someone to look at it and find out why I was not getting the right heat.

So in the end Ron (Coiling?) not sure about his last name came through town today and made some adjustments. Turns out I am one of the few maybe the only Pro 1200 owner that had it installed in a van with a 4.8 engine and not a 6.0. He raised to rpms and made a few small adjustments. Looked at the "whole system" gave us information on how to maintain the unit and heat under different conditions and we got the desired temps. That is all I wanted. I just wanted someone to go through it and figure it out. I knew if someone took the time it would get worked out. Had this been done in Nashville no one would have heard about this. Thank you Ron and Doyle from Sapphire for the follow up this morning and more important the follow through.

PS I don't expect Sapphire to buy me a beer at MF but I am still looking forward to going and having a good time.

Glad to hear they got it all worked out for you. That was a rough patch that you shouldn't have had to suffer throught. Hopefully its smooth sailing from here on out.

Kudo's to Interlink, Ron is a great guy he stopped by here once while he was visiting the KC store.

While I agree it probably shouldn't happen we get our vehicles leased from a dealer out of town. They do give us the third degree when a vehicle goes in for service. They've even asked the tech's why we didn't buy from them. Even had the sales manager ask one of my guys why we buy from out of town. I had.
them remind them my father bought two Avalon's there, I bought my wifes SUV there and my sister bought her car there too. :icon_rolleyes:

I am really glad it worked out for you David. I learned something that I found interesting and that was the fact that you posted Friday. I never would have thought the drama that happened due to the posting time. Most of us seem to check in when we have time or in my case when I am procrastinating about something. That is 24/7 and it works for me. I would have liked to see the look on someones face on Monday AM when they saw 8 or 9 pages of discussion.

Glad to here you are up and running the way you want.

Butler had a similar issue with some Ford installs a few years back. I know one of the owners got hotter than his machine. Pre bulletin board era.

All's well that ends well. I'm glad your machine is set right now, Dave. It will be interesting to see how the 4.8 works. The 6.0 has been very reliable for me (and the 300 hp is a real blast I'm telling you), but it has terrible fuel economy on the road. Hopefully you will gain in the mpg and fuel usage department with the 4.8.

No that would be Ron Williams the man who designed the machine and installed the machine. I'll have a post nightmare write up later but there are lessons here to be learned by everyone.

David glad it is tweaked to satisfaction now. Today anyway, I doubt you cleaned a bunch of house's and restaurant's today.
