Hi Guys...

Do any of you Vortex owners know if you need to register with DOT?

I didn't think so; when I bought mine used, the previous owner didn't have them.

I assume if I go ask the DOT if they'd like me to give them money, they would find a way to say yes.

Good luck everybody! Have a good weekend. Put the hurt on the dirt.

Yes and no check with your state DMV some states have slightly differnet requirments

In my state IF you meet the definition of a commercial motor carrier it's yes...if you transport good for compensation such as rugs or furniture you meet this requirement and are supposed to register with DOT as a mobile carpet cleaning unit you are not required to register with DOT

We never use to, but in the last 3-4 years the State of Kansas (looking for money) changed it so that any vehicle that weighs more 10,000 lbs GVWR has to pass a yearly inspection, DOT lettered on the truck, record log, yearly physical.

I think every state is different, but it's a $5,000.00 fine here and they told us ignorance is not an excuse.
Bet Luddy's heard that one before! :p
