Here's another one; note the SUV in the background. There are much bigger rugs out there. I've heard these referred to as "speculation" rugs, because supposedly people have gone broke making them.

I think that is the same rug as the video I posted.
Here is another one:
Iranian weavers making an $8.5m giant carpet for United Arab Emirates - A giant carpet worth $8.5 million!
At its completion it was the world's largest hand-knotted carpet ever. It was made for the Shaikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi. Iran Carpet Company with more 70 years of Persian rug weaving history was the contactor of this huge carpet.
It measured in at 60,546 square feet and weighed in at about 48 tons. The carpet took about two years to weave with upwards of 1,200 weavers working around the clock. More than 2.2 billion knots and using a total of 75,000 pounds of wool and cotton
The weaving began in March 2006 in Baghshan, 22 kilometers from the city of Neyshabour, a village 800 km northeast of Tehran, and two nearby villages, close to the city of Mashad in Khorassan Province, north east of Iran.
The weavers were all experienced women between ages of 15 and 60, supervised by 50 men acting as technical experts who will travel to Abu Dhabi to join the pieces at the mosque once the carpet when completed. The carpet was apparently made in 9 different parts.
