Daughter spills 6 ounces of contact saline solution on dirty carpet.
Blots it but smells musty the next day.
On goes 32 ounces of Natures Miracle.

No miracle.

Still stinks a month later so they go to the internet for helpful tips.

Apparently cat litter will absorb odors for carpet so they try packing it in.

No go.

Apparently hydrogen peroxide works to..

But does mix well with the CLUMPING cat litter.

One ruined Shark vacuum later I get this text from P...

Can you call Jacque about carpet in Shelly's room. They have an issue with a do it yourself spot clean up, involving clumping cat litter.

So I dropped by today to find this..

I find it curious that 6 ounces of saline solution caused an odor in the carpet.

I'm guessing there is information being withheld by the daughter. Kids....
They ALWAYS tell the complete truth to parents

Not that it matters: That mess was caused by all the "cures", not the original "ailment"

Yeah, I questioned that heavily, to no end.

Good news is daughter is a house/pet sitter and I now have credit.

Nice job. Since it's a friend of your wife, did you get paid?

Maby Fred is correct and the sailing solution was actually bong water

I would say it is very, very likely that Fred is correct.

Your life of worthy behavior, even before Mikey 2.0, may have caused you to be less aware of such things.

I highly recommend that you read this book Mike:

Talking to Strangers

The book draws from the truth-default theory by psychologist and communication studies professor Timothy R. Levine.[6][7] "Default to truth" is used throughout the book to observe how human beings are by nature trusting, not only of people or technology, but of everything. Sometimes this kind of behavior, the lack of understanding each other, leads to disastrous and tragic outcomes, as elaborated by Gladwell in the stories he brings.[8] Gladwell notes how there are evolutionary social reasons why we trust more than suspect - the need for cooperation being one. Gladwell asserts that defaulting to distrust would be disastrous and that we should "accept the limits of our ability to decipher strangers".[7]

To put it more simply: I have found that you tend to trust and see the good in people far too often.

Me? I surely default to the "distrust" side.

Get the book Brian

I fired a long term employee after reading it

People who should have known better trusted Epstein, Sandusky, Madoff, and Hitler.

After 40 years in the business and having probably 1000 or more employees over that time, I have had my share of surprise and disappointment. I have had long, term employees who have cheated us and I terminated. Guys with 18 years, 20 years, 25 years and even one with 40 years were terminated for stealing from us. I have fired a guy while his dad continued to work for us. I have fired a woman whose Aunt worked for us. I have fired a guy whose brother still works for us. I have fired a guy whose son still works for us.

I will order the book Jim, thanks.

I think clumping litter is cement. I've never had luck getting it out of carpet after wetting.
Good job.
