Back to therapy, I guess..

Mike I remember when you spoke up against RV about Keith's upholstery tool but I dont remember you doing the same for Erik. I may be wrong but I dont remember reading anything.
Sad but true....even the best of virtual friends will screw each over $50.
You have no idea how much time and energy I've spent with both Erik and RV over this clusterfuck.
The Mytee/SS incident showed me that even the best of virtual friends will screw each over $50.
I believe the key word is "IF". The Bonzer is not the same quality, not even close. The issue is the price is close but not the build. But if RV was selling a Zipper copy of the same quality for a thousand less you would buy theirs and not think about anything other than the G you just saved.
I would bet the build quality would be amazing. Someone needs to help him with Marketing and his website so more Cleaners would get to know the zipper tools... maybe Fred... he did a great site for Mike. Also be very cool if Jon Don had it available...for their more serious Clients.I just want Erik to make a rotary like the 360i but with his quality behind it.
If your patent is solid, going to court could be worthwhile. Cliff has been on the winning side of patent infringement cases against knock-offs of his stuff though; he knows the territory.
My decision which of these tools to buy would start with which one works best. If one works better, that's the one. If things are close to equal, I'll then balance price and build quality with how I'm going to use the tool. If my techs are Klowns and we're going to use the tool frequently, I'll pay more for one that can stand the abuse. If I need the tool for a few jobs and my techs are responsible, the more lightly built machine might be a better fit. Liking the people behind the product is fun, but business is about Return On Investment.
The market will decide if there's room for all.
PS: You could say that Studebaker's rotary is a rip-off of Monson's rotary and Monson's furniture tool is a rip-off of Studebaker's. Both are different enough that neither is suing the other, just competing on price, effectiveness and build quality. As much as I personally like Keith and loved the first generation HydraDry, the Shear Dry is a better fit for us now.
PPS: Rico still doesn't believe that the Shear Dry squirted him because I opened the valve on the hose whenever he looked at the base of the tool. I think if he watched me do it he still wouldn't believe it. I'm going to walk up shaking a root beer, give it to him and see if he opens it.
Hum..
Isn't the Bonzer to the Zipper-- as the Zipper Super Spinner is to the Hydro Force CX-15?
but I will say Erik's versions are more durable.
I would bet the build quality would be amazing. Someone needs to help him with Marketing and his website so more Cleaners would get to know the zipper tools... maybe Fred... he did a great site for Mike. Also be very cool if Jon Don had it available...for their more serious Clients.

Say what! Speak for yourself Mr. Non-professional Tech/Sale's manJD would sell them all day if there were just one or two versions.
Erik's customisation of jetting, trigger placement, colors etc, isnt something they can train a sales tech to do..
John Olson" data-source="post: 4456241" class="bbCodeBlock bbCodeBlock--expandable bbCodeBlock--quote js-expandWatch">Erik said flat out he was making the super spinner to piss on the CX-15 Erik you want to chime in here? That's pretty much his exact words.
Look everyone 'likes" Erik now that he has Saiger with his 15 minutes of fame shilling is product (Mark is my friend so that is not meant to be offensive) but when Erik sold everyone out for the promise of big bucks to a company set out to destroy all of you none of you "liked" Erik.
None of you wanted to buy his tool so he dropped his price. I told him NO do not drop it. Stay the course. Erik how heated were those discussions? Pretty heated I wanted to reach through the phone and strangle you but you got screwed by Cintas and HAD to move product. You choose to remove any profit for distribution.
By removing the distributor you have made "enemies" waiting and willing to eat you up. You could have avoided all that by keeping the price were it should have been but you chose different and that's OK its your tool BUT when you have a monopoly except it to fall. I warned you if you piss off the distributors eventually it will bite you. Your tool should have been on every distributors showroom floor so there was no massive hole for someone else to step in and fill.
You are responsible for the Bonzer. You made the decision to leave the door open..
Now for everyone else with this false indignation, its sickening. Erik is a big boy he made big boy choices. He is not the scrawny little kid in the corner getting beat up by the bully. He chose to sell all of you out for the promise of $$$$$ then he came back and sold out the distributors. He laughingly went after someone else (The CX-15) and now someone is challenging him and he is the poor beat up nerd in the corner? I think not. And as has been pointed it its ok when everyone else does it INCLUDING ERIK but your going to get all worked up when someone steps in to fill the gaping hole that Erik himself created? Really?
What about all of you buying from JB? Or Dang? Or Mytee or Sapphire, or phoenix or *** or Interlink or (insert name) This bothers me the most. What makes Erik so special and everyone else different? Because you think he is your friend? Lisa is your friend but I am positive lots of folks have been buying the cheap knock off glides. How many own a Dang Wand? Or a RC-99?
Now before anyone jumps on me these are truths not me being mean to Erik or against Erik the truth is the truth is the truth no matter how painful it is. Just as I have accept that I can be a big mean A-hole sometimes and Marty will never know how to use a screwdriver these are all truths.
If Erik wants to defeat this stomping his feet in public and trying to drum up public support on line isnt going to make any difference. 99% of the cleaners are not on mikeysboard (not matter what mikey thinks of himself) or any of the facebook pages but they do go into the distributors and it is the distributors that Erik needs to go back and try to win back over but that is going to be difficult as they have long memories and don't like being screwed over where carpet cleaners have short memories and don't remember the time they go shafted in favor of the guy with the big bank account.
