Wow...3 days of driving....and I miss all this

First....I love my Zipper Wands!(anyone know that ? :) )

I grew up on drag wands by the way (only could use going backwards by the way)....so operating in a house....no big deal to me or the boys....we do it all the time! (learn how to use it boy scouts!)

When I first saw the Zipper....I thought it was stupid....Then finally, I bought one at the Vegas show (same time that CX spinner was released)

I almost bought the CX Spinner....I chose to spend $500 more for what I believed was a quality built tool that was cleaning just as good as the other at the show....

The rest is history as in the middle of the night using the Zipper....I sent Erik a text message with a picture of my credit card telling him to send another Zipper!:rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon::rockon:

Even my wife has commented and noticed that the Zipper Wands increased our production rate....and even more happy clients telling people about the improved dry times and awesome cleaning taking place with Zipper (& CRB combo sometimes still needed)

Now, I love my Rotovac's also, but I do not use them on every job .....I am not a fan of what they did with their copy....and have bit my tongue many times....and feel they could spend time still improving their current product, or even come out with something else original....but my opinion I guess....

The people doing the copying.....I just want to say....you've got a long way to go to get your tools to work better.....and I am not going to be one to give input as to what needs fixing....

We use the Zipper everyday....and very familiar with it....and can and have seen the differences of certain tools, and see pics of current would be copy cats....

Best wishes to them...but you will not see one of them in my vans....

And Toms Wand....It is the best wand right now....PERIOD! So...anyone knocks it off....I will still gladly pay $500 plus more dollars to get the real deal!

The rest of the people doing this copy....I am disappointed...but I guess shouldn't be surprised....

But for me....I will just keep telling everybody about how great these originals are....and if something doesn't change....there could be a little more floor space in the back of my vans with other tools disappearing!

 :headbang:  :yoda:

Its a polarizing topic that is for sure. Right & Wrong always is.

I think anyone that takes a minute to think about the ramifications of these actions can see they are clearly wrong. I mean anyone with a soul...there in lies the problem.

Those that flippantly dismiss it as common place, regular business no longer have a soul. While people ask me why I am so angry at them. I'm not.

In fact I pity them for not being able to see for themselves what is wrong about it.

Bravo.

And what's even more depressing is the phoney friendships that were portrayed between the copier and the copied.

And the ink cartridge dude in the middle.

Now that's an honest statement. Thanks. I want a 15" zipper but I don't like the 6 jet setup. If it were 4 or 5 I'd have one already. 8-10 flow is max on my machine. The number 1 jets are useless on dirty carpet in my opinion. The zipper is a quality tool. I took my 13' zipper to PMF and they praised its craftsmanship, that's a huge compliment coming from the worlds be wand production company. But still it's a wand and wands have been around quite a while. Again I'll say I'll buy whatever helps my family and business. How's the saiger sauce haggin?

Ok you said this about 25 times in this thread!

Have you called @Erik and asked if he can make it your way? He's pretty friendly and good on the phone.

What other tool 15 inch can you use that has the flow you need?

@smart n kleen I think you will have a better understanding when you realize your #1 wand has been spoofed, lets see how much you start to defend it when the masses start praising how great the spoof is compaired to the OG.

If it better what can I say. Let's see if anyone makes a better wand. I think YOU KNOW PMF builds the highest quality wands. Now what?

He's talking about the new improved mach15 Ti knock off for $600 because the guy knocking it off has a bunch of pics trashing PMF. There's a few changes like less metal around head but it's the same head design. And the welds look not quite as good in photos. So when someone who
Already knocks off your favorite wand and they have, how do you feel???

Your first wand were a copy of what wand tom? Wasn't it a prochem? Or at least that's what Tony said. Correct me if I'm wrong please. No disrespect tom your new wands are top notch but did you invent the wand, no just made some improvements.

Nope did I ever say I did???
Yes, I was working with someone that made a copy and maybe that is why we are no longer working together....just can't mix oil and water.
I made a swivel as part of my input....did I just go out and make a copy of the one already out??? No I didn't that is not who I am....I argued till my face was blue for him to not copy the mytee swivel but he just couldn't do it.
Mytee had made one Im not going to just sit down and take measurments and then come out and say it is mine.
After I split I could have easily just made a copy of the wand I was working with but no I didn't, I had drawings of a wand I wanted to do back when me and Joe were working together....At that time I did NOT have the knowledge or understanding of how things could be made out of metal, as my knowledge has grow so has the ideas that I now know I can do.
Nope I didn't invent a wand they have been around for decades a very common tool....I just took my knowledge of things I have learned in my life and applied them to my wand. It is just my portrait of what a wand should be.....like PMF and the Mach wands, that is there portrait of what a wand should be, but we did not copy or knock of a protected product

If what I said hurt your feelings I'm sorry. I have a devastator and love love it and I recommend it to everyone. I'm just saying that it's the nature of the beast to make money on others success. I respect you very much tom for all you went through with JOE. I wish your new wand line much success.

I agree. Someday I'll have a wand from you too. They are beautiful. It's a little slow now because of the snow so I can't afford one yet but I will buy one from you. Sorry if I sounded like I was attacking you. I have all the respect for you for all the things you've went through. You're the man Tom.

As a distributor and manufacturer, I decide on lots of products during several trade shows, and many rep visits.

I try to support US manufacturers as much as possible (pumps, vac motors, most wands, extractors, and some chemicals).

Global trade has made that much more difficult to accomplish.

US small fabricators will not even bid on some of the manufacturing jobs we offer.

Chinese fabricators have dominated those manufacturing jobs.

It is now a world economy that dominates manufacturing.

Anybody that thinks otherwise, needs to examine where all the products they purchase actually are made.

Patent protection can be bought on ideas, without adequate prior art examination.

(Glides were a very good example)

Defending a valid patent is also an expensive, resource intensive process.

Well THIS was a helluva read

Just discovered I have no soul :eekk:

People steal ideas, been going on since, well.... forever.

Isn't gonna change, cause there's a buck to be made

I'm grateful for the competition, knock-offs, generics etc

The main focus seems to be on the artisan tools, they're in an elite category . Offered at a premium price to craftsmen who appreciate quality.

It's a small market, the real market is the knockoffs, the short life and even disposable tools in this industry.

Put your big boy pants and realize what you are dealing with before you jump under the microscope of product design

Cause in my eyes, once you start complaining about how the game is played when you've been watching it for 20 years, you kinda sound like a retard:stir:

WTF is wrong with you? Use 11015 jets and it will give you a 9 flow. Stop your fooking bitching about nothing. You don't know WTF you're talking about

Again your funny. 1 1/2 jets are too small for me. I want at least 2s.. To each their own. Call me if you would like to discuss flow rates and jet sizes. Thanks for your knowledgeable input
