wrapping upper zentherm

several people have suggested i wrap the upper zentherm for better heat retention any down sides to this is there a reason it's not wrapped?

there is no problem wrapping the upper heat exchanger, it is a matter of
cost and time in the manufacturing process

Wrap the two glycol HX's on the right side of the tank instead.

I have every tube and every hose wrapped on my truck. In the heat tests that have been run over the last few days my truck runs a little hotter than most.

All machines run hotter at sea level, but here in Idaho I still get a little better heat than most guys at sea level and I think its because everything is wrapped. Plus its colder here.

Not a huge difference but it can't hurt.

Insulation is insulation.

Since the single largest effect on net heat on these PTO trucks is the INCOMING water temp, I never understood why the fresh tanks weren't insulated, even Bane does this, for good reason, and they invented glycol running through the fresh tank as a preheat.

what pray besides standard run of the mill R-13 would one want to wrap their Glycol tanks with...water heater blankets are o.k but there has got to be something better....polyisocyanurate foam would possibly be the best but is it practical.

The same Orange wrap that covers your Zen plumbing would be ideal,but would have to be factory installed.

I'd go to CalSteam and get the pipe insulation they used to wrap steam supply lines. I believe its Mineral wool with a foil like liner.
