I am still new to business, and confused about the use of a 175 with brush to scrub residential carpet.

Mikey says he uses his 175 to scrub on almost every job. George Vallient says scrubbing with a 175 brush will damage/distort carpet fibers.... unwind the twists in the yarns.

I would tend to agree with George...I would think that a 175 scrub brush would be way too aggresive on residential cut pile, but what do I know... being a new guy. I currently use a counter rotating brush, which seems to work well.

I am open to the idea of scrubbing with a 175... but certainly don't want to damage carpet fibers.

Paul,

If the carpet is in such POOR condition the you need to SCRUB-it......

Chances are the warranty has been VOIDED already... :!:

As long as you Put down enough PRE-SPRAY.....You will have no PROBLEMS.....
You will do NO MORE DAMAGE than a commercial vacuum.

Just make SURE you keep the fibers DAMP...Damage CAN occur if you run the BRUSH
on DRY FIBERS....
