LVP should be installed UNDER the baseboards so that it can "float" (expand and contract). It's super common here for people to tear out the old flooring, or lay the LVP over the old hard surface and butt it up to the baseboard and install quater round to hidw the gaps, inn oreder to save money, and time...

Looks like shit imo/

Our house that we recently purchased they did the old quarter round trick and it looks terrible IMO. Hopefully will be new flooring in the coming year.

I’m an old Pergo endourced installer. I’ve installed more laminated flooring than you’ve switched board dejour’s over the years. Quarter round or shoe mold is the norm and it’s perfectly acceptable for it to cover the expansion joint.

in fact, knowingly selling anyone Pergo flooring expalins why you're such a bitter fcuk head..

You know full well that your non-window seat in hell is reserved and has been paid for in advanced.

which would be perfectly acceptable to me..

then it wasn't installed right.
nothing wrong with 1/4 rnd, but thinner shoe mold looks better.
and if they want colonial doorstop for shoe, (what that first pic looks like to me) which I agree looks much nicer, additional cost's apply
(material is more expensive)

otherwise, MDF is trailer park crap as far as I'm concerned and it's not worth pulling.
Pulling base in general is can be a fool's errand too, due to all the snafus that can happen
(that you have no clue about until you've pulled a few thousand feet to know what you don't know)

Now, let me help you so you don't sound like a complete idiot

that's the only molding that's finished in your pics

That one's not finished.
Needs caulked and painted same as base mold to look good.
It would look fine then

that one's the wrong color .
Shoe should be same color as base.
That would stick out like a sore thumb regardless if profile'd shoe was used.

the equivelent to Subway Sandwhich Chef

so is MDF
It's cheap "builder's grade" spec home crap

LVP should be installed UNDER the baseboards

who do you know that's routinely pulling baseboard, Mike?
How much caulked and painted baseboard have you ever removed?
And was the custy willing to pay the additional it costs to clean off all the stuck on caulk, pull all the nails, fill all the holes and touch-up chipped paint ?

How many million dollar plus homes have you been in Larry?
20? 30?

Countless 1000's for me.

Us billionaires do shit the right way.

The house in the top photo is just 1.5M. Yes, it's unusual to see vinyl plank and a home of this stature but it's the commercial grade and they got lots of visitors and lots of big dogs and they made the right choice, even if they were slightly white trashy with the fancy molding.
They said I'm the only person that's ever noticed their commented.

Im not an installer Larry, wtf does that have to do with anything"

when you have money, removing the baseboards and all the things that can go wrong, is what it is.

You dont know crap about how the upper crust lives.

you'll have to define where the economic level of "upper crust" starts.

easy, when people have enough money to not worry about how hard their broke dick section 8 rehab specialist is going to have to work in order to make their flooring look proper.

Not thet they would hire you are Marty in the first place.

Craftsmen charge accordingly.
You sir are not a craftsman, clearly.
