I wanted to know what yaw thought of using Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber as the official Theme Song of SOA. It is a beautiful piece, (laboratory accreditation is a beautiful concept). It has no words, (I have not heard anything yet that makes sense about SOA). It is incredibility sad and melancholic, (some of the greatest names in our industry would have seemed to fallen). Just my personnel reflections.

The music can be downloaded for free at

You may remember it from the funeral march of John F. Kennedy and Franklin D. Roosevelt. It was also the background music in APOCALYPSE NOW.

Now Ron, they are a nonprofit group. Where did you get the idea about it being about the money?

I don't know that tune, but another sad song that is quite appropriate is "Yesterday", by Paul McCartney.

And it's easy to make up words to:

"S-O-A-, All my troubles seemed so far away,

Now it look's as though they're here to stay,

Oh how I hate you S-O-A".

C-R-I -, You poked a sharp stick right into my eye

Rug Doctor got a bigger piece of pie,

Oh damn you, damn you, C-R-I!

(bridge)

Why Shaw had to screw

Carpet cleaners and tell them what to do

Make us pay- and switch to doing things their way!

Oh how I hate you S-O-A!

Suddenly, I must get renewed with I-I-C-R-C,

Now every year I'll have to pay that fee,

Makes me so mad that I can barely see,

Oh how I hate you S-O-A!!!!"

MIKE

Yep, I am voting for Mike's song. Can we sing this at Mikefest?

Hey, maybe I'll bring the gee-tar to Connections this year.

We can all sing it together.
