I snagged a decent job. It's terrazo flooring. I was going to clean and put a semi-gloss wax on it (they want a medium shine to contrast the high gloss ceiling) but am on the fence. It doesn't have wax on it at the moment (I razored a small inconspicuous area, no wax). So I am now trying to decide on if I should use my monkey pads. If I do, I need some help on deciding where to start and finish. I thought, maybe clean, 800 monkey, turbo hybrid, seal. Here is the floor. Not in bad shape at all. Just different spots that are semi-dull that stand out. Also, as you can see lots of furniture to move 😐. 1200 sq ft thats spread out. Wanting to have it done in 1 12-hr shift. Will have 3 more guys with me.

Your issue with timing is the very reason I apply
finish to most of mine. It take less time to do the finish process than diamond pads. All of mine are churches with pews where time is of the essence. That being said, only you can determine which is the best fit for your customs. There’s no one size fits all for that situation.

The lady at the janitor supply shop I get wax at for my tile floors said it was a bad idea since wax will seep into the porous terazzo. So I don't want to mess somebody over for the future. 🤦‍♂️ dang it. Thanks for the reply.

Oh my, that’s crazy. You treat it just like vct. I’ve done it that way for years in my 4 churches and schools that have it. Diamond pads are great if you have the time.

Again, neither your distributor or I know like you do, knowing the situation. But, I wouldn’t back off of finishing either.

i WOULD NOT ReCOMMEND a topical if they do not have one now. Topicals will readily scratch and embed soils. They will look at you with that new problem....

DIP's are terrible as a first cut to actually remove surface damage . I would cut it with 220 resin then 2 step DIP after that

If you have never used resins, or did not charge for it, keep it simple and run 1 or 2 step DIP

What DIP's do you have?

You want to turbo first, then DIP and just squeegee after that the higher grit DIP are not going to leave that much slurry, plus grout it white

Its possible... test it
Will do. That's gonna be my ticket I think. If it wasn't a high end restaurant I wouldn't feel terrible about using the wax. But these people put alot of money into their place and I just have a hard time putting wax down. I just hope I can give them a good finish, and in 1 step at that 🤞

Hello friends! My apologies for being late on my update! The job went great and the customer was happy. They want me back every 6 months for maintenance. Score. Here are photos of after. I did a test with 1500 grit monkey pad unweighted drive plate with water using 175. Too dull. I bumped it to 3000. Was right where the sheen needed to be to contrast the high gloss ceiling. I did a final mop with neutral cleaner, fans applied and used Dupont inpregnating sealer applied with microfiber pad on pole. Thanks for the shove guys, and for being here. Means alot...

It's hard to tell from the before photos much difference. But in person there were cloudy patches throughout. No more.
