Solution Hose marking carpet

This is a first for me in 26 years of cleaning. My solution hoses left blue marks/dye on a white carpet that I cleaned today. It took a little effort, but I WAS able to remove them.

These hoses are about 3 yrs old and I bought them from Chappel Supply in OKC. Not sure what the brand name is, but they're not cheapo hoses.

I run high heat with my Powermatic, but I've been doing that since 2001. I have hoses that came with the machine from 01 that don't leave marks, So, anybody have an idea as to why this issue is showing up after all this time?

Thanks,
James

Chappell sells raptor blast. I've bought tons from then. That has never happened. Super weird.

Have you changed your prespray? I notice that with certain presprays the good year sometimes will divorce the blue color and leave it laying on the carpet.

We had that problem about a 18 months ago. WE switched to a gray hose and no problems. It might be happening but you can't see it.

I have yet to find a high heat, 240+, high pressure, 3000 psi, that didn't leave marks.

Been battling that for years.

I used to think it's the heat, I think it's the vibration or pulsation I should say.

Been using goodyear neptune for over ten years now... Stopped using the blue and switched to gray about 4 years ago due to blue dye occasionally bleeding. Typically on the bullnose of a stair. As mentioned, I am also confident that it is the detergent , heat and dwell that is causing the reaction.

Easy fix if you notice it, not sure if it is permanent days or weeks later.

FYI. Windtrax.com has the best price on Goodyear Neptune by a long shot

Where are you getting your info John?
Partnering up with Jerry?
If you have any questions on what I do or don't do you could call and ask me.
Why are you trying to call me out on the board?
What have I ever done to you?

Goodyear Neptune (blue) been leaving lines as long as I can remember. I just have to keep moving the hose around to prevent it. If it's a two man crew than it's not a problem since your hose guy can keep moving it. One man band makes it a little harder. I think I will try Gray next time.

I hope its not Raptor Blast hose, I had the worst luck with that stuff and had to throw out 200' of barely used hose. It always left blue lines, I assumed it was from the DL booster I put in prespray. Easily removed lines, but I had to deal with black death with this hose at just a couple of months twice, and not close to the wand either. I switched back to the Goodyear and no more blue lines.

However, I was in a house a week ago and started to see blue marks here and there while cleaning, thought here we go again, what the hell. Finally figured it out, the blue marks were coming from the bottom of my jeans which had gotten wet.

Weird. Never had a problem with raptor blast. Black Death only when it froze.

Haha That's funny. Ummm, you WERE joking, right?

Sorry it took me so long to respond. Been pretty busy and haven't been on the boards at all.

So, to answer one question, I have NOT changed any of my chems. They are all still the same (using Powermax for prespray).

I have 2 hoses that I bought from Chappel Supply at different times, so I'm sure they are from different batches. One hose leaves blue marks on the carpet, the other DOES NOT.

I wonder if the hose that leaves marks could be "cleaned" until no more dye would release from it and leave marks???

Anybody ever tried that??

Thanks,
James

Switch the one that bleeds as a second line the one that doesn't as a lead line. I have seen this before its usually pre spray related and cleans out easily.
