Ok, I have been servicing this lady ( hee hee ) for 3 years now..anywhere between once or twice a year. Each Ticket is between 4 and 500. For a one man show its a nice job for me. Last time we had a problem with a rug and it wasnt my fault but since I didnt take pictures I had limited proof. She kind of understood at the end about it but anyway the truth is she wasnt nice about it at all. I ended up giving her 350.00. And we went our separate ways. I was pissed at how fast she could turn into such a C and I have gone above and beyond for this lady as far as service and she gets a pretty good deal. I expected her to take that into consideration, obviously I was wrong. Either way..now ( 6 months later ) she shoots me an email for another service all happy new year and shit like I was supposed to just be cool now. Personally, I want to tell her to **** off..but dont know how. I could always use the money though..anyones experience would help.

I mean, I would just politely say that due to the situation from the last cleaning, you are not comfortable cleaning for her. Nobody's gotta be a dick about it but I think you're better off staying away.

I am assuming that you are a fairly young guy that is still impressed with the freedom and independence that owning your own business brings you. Normally, such guys do not adequately appreciate the positive and negative affect a single customer can have on your business. It is virtually impossible to fire a customer without making an enemy.

Kiss her ass and take her money.

Tell her to Fook Off............ok just say it to yourself you'll feel better. :p

Do the work with an adjusted price for being a pain. Do a great job so she will continue to call you. Make sure anything that need to be prequalified gets down in writing and she sign it.

Sounds to me like you're getting a second chance, most clients that have a complaint will not call you again. Unless she's some kind of a crook (not very likely) I don't see what you got to lose. And if she is, there you go sugar daddy :winky:

If there was an issue with the rug that wasn't your fault it should have been written and signed as a pre-existing condition. Most clients assume that things are our fault even if they're not unless it was brought to their attention prior to cleaning. That why a thorough pre-inspection with the findings in writing and signed, is important.

The customer is giving you the opportunity to recapture your lost profits. Unless she has shown you signs of being completely unredeemable as a human being, she likely saw it as a business issue that she now feels has been resolved satisfactorily.

Act like nothing happened and treat her with professional courtesy and of course be very thorough in your preinspection and qualifying steps.

And don't act like any such conversation or associated paperwork that you ask her to acknowledge and/or sign is being used because you don't like and trust her.

Do it one more time and if she's a ##### this time take her money but NEXT time refer her to a local low life hack.

I lose sleep thinking about doing work for some people who brow beat me..................

I once thought about going back and killing their dog in the yard.
And possibly setting their house on fire or pissing on their bed as I clean their bedroom.
Calling from a gas station and making obscene words come out of my mouth.
Driving by and flipping them off.

Sometimes there is no higher road to take so................FOOK EM!

1)What happened to the carpet.

2) learning experience $350 to teach how important documentation is.

3) You ain't getting none so stop with the free shit - never works anyway .. (I'm just harassing ya)
I like doing a little here and there but keep it to a min without charge cause you won't get rich doin it
The favor is usually forgotten until you try to charge for it in the future ..

4) I'd keep her and handle her delicately and make sure every square inch is calculated in the cost -

Jimmy is a seasoned (with whut, I don't know) vet, I tend to follow in his foot steps ( wish they weren't so smelly).

Do as everyone else suggested, take her money in a professional manner.

We had a customer who was extreme C that blamed our guys for ruining her son's xbox, 1 controller, and a flat screen. She said that we sprayed chemicals all over her stuff up to 6ft and in multiple rooms. Our crew said they did no such thing and had no sprayer problems. When I went out there to look at it and take my beating she also showed me an empty 32oz bottle of pog that we left behind. She had 3 little kids there no older than 5yrs who in my opinion found the bottle and sprayed it all over, that is unless it was her. Techs said that it was a full bottle when they used it. I was surprised how sure she was that it was my guys and not the kids. It cost us a few hundred to make her happy. Since then she has used us 3 times at about $500ea and has not been anything but a great customer since.

One time I knew of a guy who had problems with his neighbor's dog barking all the time.............some sort of terrier.

Well he was so distraught because he couldn't even go into his back yard anymore because of the devil dog.

He told me in secret (Shhhhhhh!) that he let the dog out of his yard one day.................it chased him into his garage.

He quickly reached and closed the garage door behind him.

Now it was just him and that devil dog. In his garage he had a nice baseball bat..............and he preceded to chase and corner that sumbitch all around his garage.

And in a glancing blow.......he knocked it out.

Then as he remembered all of those years of his internal hatred building up....he placed that knocked out dog into a plastic trach can.

Then he cut a small hole in the lid...............and reached for his ether spray that he used to start is aging mower.

He sprayed liberally into the hole of the lid. And as he sprayed he could hear that dog begin to come around. It quickly figured out where he was.

But it was too late!

He preceded to crap all over inside that trash can in his death throes.

And when there was no more sound the guy took that trash can and loaded it up in his truck and drove out to a local river.

He threw the whole trash can in.

He smiled..............and when he looked into his mirror each day.........he was proud of himself.

And he smiled everyday that the neighbors went all through the neigborhood passing out "Missing dog" flyers.

What's the moral of this story some of you dumasses ask?

It's that "Every dog will have his day"

Sounds to me these kids were imitating yous .. a spray spray here ana spray spray there .. you're probably lucky they didn't drink it or spray their eyes or ended up in a hospital due to skin rash ..

My helper left a 32 oz bottle of odor treatment which a slight amount was used (mist sprayed the air) .. we went back after the next job and the bottle was just about empty .. I said, "oh my god, did it leak out?" customers says no that's how I found it .. I'm like hmmm ok thank you .. have a nice day ... the next time I cleaned for her 4mo later, the white carpet was darker than I've ever seen it - we all know what happened here right !!

She questioned why I thought it got dirty so quick - I wanted to say," cause you stole my shit bitch - sprayed too much down - and it attracted dirt .. but I didn't .. I said a lot of times customers will put products on the carpet without a thorough rinse which may cause premature soil build up due to the sticky residue

I could see it in her eyes she knew she screwed up costing an additional cleaning thinking she got away with stealing my shit

Don't move, stay right where you are the white coats are on there way.

They promise this will be a brief visit instead of a long stay like last time.
