Successful day removing the sticky from that plastic crap that's rolled out to "protect" the carpet. More like "damage" the carpet.

Yes. I had a brilliant painter use duct tape to secure his tarp to the carpet. Took a few trys with solvent and scrubbing. Problem is, once you get it wet, it's hard to tell if you've removed everything.

Carpet mastic.. The instructions say to not leave it down more than 28 days, but no one reads instructions.. Construction sites would it a lot on new carpeting.. We've done a couple thousand jobs regarding carpet mastic..
Spin Finish is the fun one to correct.. Happens more on outdoor carpet, basically the carpet doesn't get rinsed good at the carpet mill.. New carpet that gets dirty fast as the residue is still in the fiber.. Believe it or not 10% of carpeting has a defect from the mills.. They produce a crap ton of yards every year, a rinse jet does get clogged here and there..
