Anybody applying Fabric Protector to Viscose Rugs? Some rugs say DON'T apply any fabric protector at all.Don't spot clean suction only in one direction. Also just saw a tag stating not to use viscose in a dining room situation. Should just say use lighter fluid and Match.
Have a client that spot cleaned and ruined texture on a 3 Day's old rug probably 12x18,but bought it with Amex Platinum card so it has a two year warranty! Ouch!

Ron, I think you could use Maxim advanced upholstery protector. Water based with Dye-Loc and fast dry additives. Works great on linen so far, I think it would work great on viscose.

The texture would be shot in a few months anyway. Viscose is very brittle for rug.

Mine is off white and browned a bit first time I cleaned it. Had to finish drying it upside down the second time and turned out great.

This is a hard one. My tendency would be to not have one of my services tied to an expensive item that will self destruct no matter the quality of my protectant. I wonder if all cleaners refused to protect viscose then our customers would be less likely to buy this scam material in a rug. Of course if the viscose is already purchased then some protection would diminish the level of disaster that will happen if displayed in a room with regular use.
