plantar fasciitis

You can get the shot. It will clear it up right away. Medical personal say the shot is really painful.

I am just getting over it. It has taken about 3 months.

You need to be off your feet as much as possible and do the streaching.

My doctor had me use a golf ball and roll it under my feet.

You can also get a script of Mobic that will help with the inflamation.

It can take up to a year to get over this. Good luck!

The tendons in the bottom of your foot are too tight, whether caused by an injury, how you walk, misuse, etc. Put a tennis ball under your foot, put pressure on it, and run it slowly back and forth between your heel and base of toes. This will stretch the tendons and muscles in the bottom of your foot. Do this twice a day. It gives you that 'hurt so good' massage.

I had this problem. Doc told me the tennis ball stretch trick, did it a few weeks. It worked.

I don't play tennis. Can I use a cue ball? Could someone send me a tennis ball? I'm a bdcc and can't afford the gas or the ball.

Touch wood, I guess I have been fortunate, I've never heard of this problem let alone suffered from it.

Lucky I'm still young and fit I guess. ??

But I may start doing those exercises Lisa recommended for when I get old, just in case.

Does anyone know what causes this Plantars (?), prevention is better than cure.

Shorty.

after i had brought this up i have done a few things....and it seems to have helped with morning soreness...after working and then resting...ehhhh a little

Rest...as much as possible

rolling a tennis ball under my foot while at the computer...funny thing when i put pressure i can feel it hurt...other foot..not really...so it must be that

icing.....man it hurts after about 5 minutes, i have to keep moving it around...

and not wearing this 1 pair of shoes....which is funny, cuz it was my favorite slip on pair (i hate walking around bare foot) even when it had the insert...still never seemed to help...

Hey thanks to all and your suggestions......maybe we should have a medical room...where people can talk about their work related/caused aliments and compare notes.....

golf ball works great on the bottom of your foot to stretch it out.
Dan uses the golf ball exercise too and says it works for him. I've not had it yet, hope I don't get it.

I do wear Ariats that have great insoles, so maybe that helps and wear Asics when not wearing boots. Too many cheap shoes look good but really don't support your feet well.

Never go barefoot! I have Rider flip-flops \ slide on sandals for around the house. My doctor suggested them because they do not let your foot bend and have good cushion. Start with a tennis ball and then move to the golf ball and don't forget massage, but make sure person giving it to you knows the proper way - they will use their knuckles and work below your arch. amygeorge

Just a side note regarding going barefooted.

I have read accounts claiming that inflamation of the plantar ligament is a modern (as in since hard sole shoes were invented) western civilization phenomenon. The theory is that going barefoot is actually GOOD for preventing the problem over the long term.

Preventing ... mind you.

Sorry buddy, we're all in the same boat. Man up, grab a sharp knife and get hold of your nutsack. Lop on off and use that. Be sure to have a propane torch to cauterize and stop the bleeding. Or, if married, ask the wife if you can take one out of her purse. !gotcha! !gotcha!

After looking at the "Willy Pic" several times, I now do believe that yoga is good for you.

'cept; I think I now have double vision.

I also go barefoot whenever at home, and apart from the bedrooms, our entire house including outdoor areas is hard tiled.

Several times now, I find myself agreeing with Marty (scary), prevention is better than cure.

(Or maybe he's agreeing with me).

Question, the NATIVE American Red Indian, since they were colonized, does anyone have any idea of this Plantars thing on their health. ??

Like, I believe since time immemorial, they went barefoot until they started making the very soft moccasins that they wore in the John Wayne movies.

Thanks.

Half my home is tile the rest is carpet. When I get home I take my boots off and wear socks unless I'm going back out. I can't go barefoot outside, it hurts even walking on grass. I have soft feet.

Mr. Taco:

I normally agree with people who make fun of us southerners, cuz we is a peculiar bunch. However, for yOU to make fun of our culture is a bit over the top, since you peoples just now stopped knifing each other and drinking all night and sleeping under a cactus all day.

If it was not for your modern habit of border jumping at night, you'd still be sticking each other with knives.

Not that there is anything wrong with taking a nap.

I ran cross country in college and got it. Hurt just to walk. They had me wear a special boot at night that keeps you tendons stretched. Plus ice worked well to. Good luck. It was real pain to work through

The gas peddle on my '07 GMC kills my foot. The angle and engine cover obstruction must have been designed by Oprah because it all wrong. Yoga won't cure any affliction with two Is in it.
