It's been a long hard winter here. And I have enjoyed looking out my dining room window and seeing the two squirrels playing in the trees. I would go out side and even put food on the ground so they could eat. Stale cherrios and bread. Such a lovely sight watching them romp and play. And I still remember those two squirrels and how they would come into my yard............digging it up to either plant food or dig it up so they could eat during the winter. My yard is full of pot holes now....even my garden area around my house.
So yesterday while the polar
vortex was raging through my area dropping temps down 50 degrees that I looked outside and thought of those two squirrels.
Were they snuggling in their nest high above in the trees?
And as I wondered.....I stepped outside with my pellet gun....................and pumped a couple rounds into their nest. I soon noticed the two of them running out and going separate directions. And then one came close to a branch by my house. I aimed....shot and one of them fell to the ground.
I cursed at the lone survivor and said...the next shot is for you ........you little bastard for digging up my yard.
I went out and recovered the body.................and cut the tail off for a trophy.
Now late at night I can hear that squirrel cry.
REEKO................do you understand the moral of this story...huh?
I'll be watching a lot of yous guys.................
