EH, I hope he succeeds. I think it's too late though on what he's trying to do. There's too many of these carpet cleaning business coaches out there annoying the hell out of the new guys.

I actually really liked and admired Nate. He's certainly a numbers man and I really like how he had his price lists. So I signed up for this mailing list of his and it was a total spam list of sh!t. I don't expect anything for free but this was complete B.S.

I know Nate. We service the same market. He is full of ideas and is very friendly. We sometimes bid against each other on jobs. We even compare bids after we submit them. He is extremely good at advertising to his current customer base.

That's generally your goldmine.

Your database already knows and trusts your work and merely needs to be reminded it's time to clean. Not nearly as difficult as persuading a potential customer to switch to you.

Doesn't that just irk you? My brother hated that a company that was good at marketing could easily get work, regardless of how proficient they were at cleaning.

I liked it, because a company that could do both, market and clean would make for a powerful combination. šŸ˜Ž

McDonald's is so good at marketing that it gets people to eat "products" that certainly shouldn't be described as food ...and people will wait in line for it.

I think it should serve as a constant reminder that there are several components to running a successful business.

Being a great cleaner is certainly an important element but marketing and management should not be neglected either.

Good content gets read. Lame content gets ditched.
Welcome to Part 2 of our mini-series on developing a strategic email empire - the crash course in amped email content. Last time we convinced you that email marketing is a seriously powerful tool. In Part 2 weā€™re making sure your emails get read, not trashed. Content is the name, adding value is the game. Letā€™s dig in.
Good content gives you wings. Black and white illustration.
First, get familiar with these two basic email marketing rules.
Rule #1: People really donā€™t enjoy sales pitches.
Constantly trying to sell, sell, sell is going to land your emails in the trash. Getting a weekly sales pitch can be equated to getting a weekly root canal. Ainā€™t nobody buying that. Your brand and your name will become associated with selling, and become devalued in the mind of your client.
Rule #2: People love free, value-added content.
Thatā€™s right, people love free stuff. No surprise there. But Nate... I canā€™t give away free stuff all the time. Yes. Yes, you can. Free stuff isnā€™t just products or services - itā€™s information. People love information, knowledge, and learning. And you, my friend, are the expert in your field. That means you have a LOT of value-added content you can share with your peeps who love to know all the things. Sharing information makes you a valuable expert in your field - the expert your audience will turn to when they need help, and the expert your audience will refer when a friend needs help.
Speaking of free stuff...
Weā€™ve got some for you. Check out our Top 10 Content Prompts to jumpstart your email campaign.
1) We're Hiring. Share about job openings at your company. Everyone knows someone looking for a job - this gets your emails forwarded into more inboxes, shared on social media, etc. Itā€™s a great conversation starter.
2) New Product or Service. Share new things youā€™re doing, and WHY youā€™re doing them. Don't just yap about being a leader within your industry - demonstrate with proof and let the audience draw their own conclusion that you're top notch.
3) Case Studies & Reviews. Analyze market trends, review products, share your results - this is your knowledge drop.
4) Discuss Big Changes. Inform clients of industry best practices, new tech, and what it means for them and their interaction with your company.
5) Team Spotlight. Build brand confidence when you showcase your trusted team of experts and their sweet skill sets.
6) Client Proof. Share real reviews, before + after shots, and real customer testimonials (with permission, of course).
7) Behind the Scenes. Humor your audience with company happenings, the office cat, and team deets. Show the real people behind the business.
8) FAQs. Customer questions fuel highly relatable email banter - if they are asking, they want to know more. And their friends are probably asking, too!
9) Seasonal + Holiday Prep. Tips & tricks to prep for season changes and upcoming holidays.
10) Avoid This. Provide mentorship on avoiding costly mistakes or bad product purchases. (But please, donā€™t gossip.)
So, there you go. No excuses now! I'm dropping a link to MailerLite below - it's a FREE email marketing tool. Good stuff.
Alright, weā€™ve wrapped up Part 2! Give yourself a pat on the back - you made an excellent decision jumping into the exclusive MrBrott.com community. Thereā€™s more strategic brilliance coming your way soon. Hereā€™s a sneak peek at Part 3 of our mini-series...

My first job in carpet cleaning was as a telemarketer. We were very well trained with marketing and positive thinking specialists brought in to keep us hyped up. Our phone room just rocked you with its energy. Wasn't until I became a cleaner for them that I realized it was all a scam. I did learn how to sell though.

I did telemarketing selling filter queens. Did repairs and sales. Ended up running the office.
