-Tony Wheelwright Elected Chairman of the Board-

VANCOUVER, Wash. Nov. 1, 2013 – The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration

incumbent members to comprise the 2013-2014 Board of Directors. Elections were held during
the IICRC’s October shareholder meeting in Vancouver, Wash.

Tony Wheelwright was elected Chairman of the IICRC Board of Directors. In this capacity,
Wheelwright will also serve as Chairman of the executive committee which includes: Hank
Unck, first vice president; Pete Duncanson, second vice president; Jenny Boymal, international
vice president; Norm Maia, treasurer; and Kevin Pearson, secretary. Patrick Winters will
continue to serve as the IICRC president.

“It is an honor to be elected to this position but it is the whole Board - our team - a great group of
hard working volunteers that I wish to emphasize,” said Wheelwright. “It's an exciting time and
we have a great deal of work to do.”

Additional members of the 2013-2014 Board of Directors include:

• Graham Bedwell
• Dennis Blake
• Joe Dobbins
• Joseph Hughes
• Craig Jasper
• Patrick Moffett
• Darrell Paulson
• Rodney Paulson
• Paul Pearce
“Our previous Chairman, Darrell Paulson, was a tremendous example and mentor to all of us on
his team and we owe him a great deal of gratitude,” added Wheelwright. “Under his leadership,
the teams many accomplishments left the Institute in very good shape. We look forward to
driving the organization forward even further.”
New to the Board of Directors this year are Joe Dobbins, Joseph Hughes and Paul Pearce. Also
new this year is the removal of the certification council chairman position from the executive
committee. This position, filled by Norm Maia, now falls under the second vice president. For more information on the IICRC, please visit iicrc.org, or contact Andi Vance at 513-762-

I'm very happy to see Tony take control btw..

Is it just a coincidence that the day he gets his badge, Even Kessler and Warner Braun both quit their jobs? :eekk:

Does this mean MB gets a free booth at the IICRC Big Show in Vegas?

I mean let's be honest here, with out the fame and fortune that this place has brought him he'd still be tanning monk seal leathers in his clean and tidy igloo all winter long..

Does his position make the group worth Joining now?
Or is it still gonna be a circle jerk?

To me it nothing but an ongoing sham, especially when I see Purple Power Sams Club Cleaners rinsing with cold water sporting the logo.

Good Luck Guy!

There have been a lot of changes to the old IICRC, most of them important foundation building stuff that isn't very interesting. Once the construction really gets going on the association you'll see a lot of solid benefits to joining either an affiliated association or as a Certified Firm.

Congratulation to Tony, he's done an awful lot of that boring foundation building over the past several years.

Cool. I wonder if he or his staff will ever respond to my request that I've sent several times over a number of years about a lapsed certification.

Oz you coming to MF 10?
Had to join in the Doc Holliday love-fest, eh?

Tony doesn't have a staff, but the organization certainly does, and should be able to give you an answer.

If there's more to the story than just not paying dues for over a year you may want to ask to talk with Tom Hill. He's in charge of the office and would be familiar with policies, and if he can't give you an answer would likely know who could.

I got reacquainted with Tony last May when he attended our Rug Summit in North Carolina. We had a nice chat. I got the impression he retired from his cleaning company and now was focused on doing something meaningful with his new challenges in the organization.

He will be a perfect fit for the shady organization. He trys to paint a pretty picture. But he never made it in the carpet cleaning industry. He couldnt even organize two simple carpet cleaning experiments at each Mikeyfest. His vacuum tests no results failure number one. He has Mikey spend over 200 bucks on his scotchguard tests. Again no results. Failure number two. The guy is a blow hard. Sold his carpet cleaning biz lets the guy run it into the ground and gives the biz back to his son. Tony would never clean furniture on site. He would bring everything back to the shop and clean it on site. Because he did not have the skills to do it in the home. The guy should write a book on How To Run A Carpet Cleaning Business Into The Ground. Oh sorry I forgot he did make money once in the industry. When he burnt his business down for some insurance money. Shady. Tony is a legend in his own mind. Tony also tore down the ICS board by telling members like myself to quit posting over there to try to build this place up. Kind of funny how he rarely shows up here.

Thank you all for the laughs and the memories.
I made a lot of friends and learned a lot here and at the many MF's that I attended.
Never underestimate the persuasive and illusory power of an old timer from Michigan.

Many big changes have already been made in the structure of the Institute and there will be many more to come, no doubt.
It is a slow process and will take a lot of time and effort but I do believe that we are on the right track.
We have a good team of honest hearted and hard working volunteers working to provide real benefits way beyond anything that you have seen up to now and they all need your support, suggestions and encouragement.
I am retired now and will be happy to hear of any constructive suggestions that any of you have, at least those of you that are real carpet cleaners.

Best wishes for a great 2014 to all of you, even Waldo.. . .
