I have a an old vaporlux machine that I originally bought to clean grout with since I use a porty. I was talking to a guy at the supply house who was trying to sell me a machine that did the same thing( spits out a bunch of steam .) He told me there is a large market for degreasing hoods at restraunts. I have heard of people doing this but dont know how much it pays or how hard it is. I have been slow lately so I am willing to try new things. I figure because I clean a couple restraunts it may be a good add on. what do you guys know about this?

Jon there is a big market for the work, all restaurants, bars with grills or anything like that have a range hood that needs cleaning regularly.

It's dirty work, you need high heat and flow to clean the crude off. The pressure washer people use to do the majority of the work until they required them to recover their water. No one in our town does it anymore, they hire a specialist that travels most of the state to do it.

I don't think your steamer is capable of doing what they need done, but it never hurts to check into it.

Here is a training school in Texas for range hoods.
